Hi Guys, I just had a bladder infection, and so my doctor put me on antibiotics, but now its kinda itchy down there, not meaning to sound gross or anything. If I had an STD wouldn't it have went away while on the antibiotics?

No if it was an STD you have to get a diffrent anitbiotic the ones that are used for a bladder infection are not to treat STD's. Also you might have gotten a yeast infection from the antibiotic that does happen sometimes try some over the counter monistat if that doen't work go back to the doctor to get tested for std's.

Ohhh, you have a yeast infection. Go grab an over the counter cream for the yeast, that should clear it up, if not check back with your doctor, but this FREQUENTLY happens with anitbiotics. Next time you have to take antibiotics eat a cup of yogurt everyday while you're on them, this will help prevent a yeast infection and will restore good microbes to your body. Get better soon! Oh, and urinating after sex will lessen the chances of getting another bladder infection, those things are SSSSOOOO painful!

You could have a yeast infection from the antibiotics. if you are suspicious that you had an STD get checked for it you may need more antibiotics. Good luck
For the yeast infection try drinking cranberry juice eating yogurt or soy yogurt and wearing only light weight cotton underwear. You may be re-infecting a sexual partner so both have to be treated for yeast infection if it gets worse.

You might be developing a yeast infection. Antibiotics are one of the main causes of yeast infections.

If the symptoms don't go away after you have finished the medication or they are getting worse go back to your doctor. They may need to give you some anti fungal medication to get rid of the yeast infection.

You also might want to try and eat some yogurt. Yogurt has live culture in it which balances the "good" and "bad" bacteria in the vagina. When a woman takes antibiotics, the medication tries to kill all the "bad" bacteria which creates an imbalance in the vagina. Good luck!

It depends on the STD. STD caused by viruses have no cure, while bacteria STDs are treated with antibiotics.

First, did you tell your doctor that you're concern about STD? If yes, than give your doctor a call or leave a message with the nurse to call you back.

If you didn't tell your doctor about your concern with STD...than get tested either with the doctor or a planned parenthood clinic.

In the meanwhile, drink cranberry juice. In the future, you can limit urinary tract infections(UTI) by peeing after having sex. UTI is sometimes referred to as "honeymoon syndrome."

The medication is for the bladder infection. Not STDs. So no, it woulnd't go away. But I also doubt it's an STD. It's probably just a reaction from the medication.

Antibiotics open the door for yeast infections like Candida. You might have an yeast infection that can be treated with over the counter medicines. look for white cheesy discharge and itchyness.

Many STDs do NOT go away, EVER! And there are now STDs that are drug resistant, like gonorrhea. If you're itching, you need a swab, blood-test, and analysis.

The days of a few shots or pills curing STDs are long over. You may be in BIG trouble....

umm.... no! Different antibiotics are used for different things. Your bladder infection meds are totally different than what they would give you for, say, Chlamydia or something.
