Over the years I have gone to several doctors, probably about 4, with lots of difficulty breathing. Three of the doctors said there is no way in hell I could have asthma, because I was not wheezing. However another doctor said that with my symptoms (lots of chest tightness but no wheezing) I could very likely have asthma, and prescribed me meds.

Which doctor was right? Which one was full of ****?

My sister-in-law was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. She said her primary care doctor told her she had cancer in her neck and all over her chest. I thought she had taken the story and blown it up. Now I don't think so. The situation looks so grim and I'm sad and feel so guilty for the things I thought. She has never been a very happy person and alway so stressed. Her daughter just had a baby girl today. I know how much she wanted to be there, but she is still in the hospital. They did a lung biopsy this morning. The cancer is in her lymph nodes, but it's not lymphoma and they are tryng to find out where it start from. It sounds like to me that it's not anything that they can cure or that will be in remission for long. I'm I wrong?

I took my 19 year old Son to the Emergency Room for tightness of the chest, and a Cough. He was examined and the Doctor said he had Bronchitis and some fluid in the Lungs (no x-rays were taken). My Son was given Steroids, Antibiotics, and an Inhaler. 2 Days later we took him back to the ER because he was Vomiting, had stomach cramps, and Diarreha. The Doctor then said he had a Bladder problem. so they gave him a Cathiter and kept him overnight. at 2 A.M we got a call that my son was taken to C.C.U. because he was having trouble breathing and his lips and ears were turning blue. 2 hours later he died because as the doctor said (his heart was enlarged and it looked like an old mans heart). The Hospital showed at 10 P.M. he was given Morphine pain. he had an apparent allergic reaction so they gave him 2 doses of Narcan and his heart rate jumped to 200 BPM. then they gave him something to slow his heart rate. It slowed to 45 BPM. at 4:08 A.m my Son Died.

I noticed while I was in the shower this morning that I tasted blood in my mouth. When I spit there was a little bit of blood. I coughed a little and green mucus came up but there was not blood in it. I usually have a little drainage in the morning. I spit a little more when brusing my teeth and there was a little blood, but the mucus coming up does not have blood in it should I be concerned. I could not find anything in my mouth that could be bleeding.

When I try and take a deep breath, it feels like something is almost restricting my lungs and I can't breath in all the way. It's been going on a few days, and it's not making me dizzy or anything, I just feel a little short of breath. Any ideas what could be wrong??

I just recieved copies of my abdominal CT and found some things to be 'weird'. Can anyone explain the following?... The liver shows area of low attenuation adjacent to the fissure for falciform ligament w/ fatty infiltration. Right renal cyst is present in upper pole posteriorly measuring 11cm. Shotty retroperitoneal adenopathy is present. Shotty mesenteric adenopathy is seen in rt. lower quadrant. Study shows area of focal fatty infiltration of the liver. Mild dependent peripheral interstitial densities are noted, which represent atelactasis. Atelactasis is seen within the lingula as well.
I am a 27yr old male w/ stomach pain and also 2 herniations in lumbar spine. Can anyone shed some light on these finding? I see my Dr. in 2 days and some of this stuff sounds kinda serious.

Ok I'm new to this gross practice of washing the nasal passage. I'm using Entsol Hypertonic Nasal Wash and when I tried it out using 8 ounces of water and 1 packet of Entsol powder my nose stings so badly with only few seconds of rinse. I had to cough it all out and I don't dare to use it again. Any suggestions of what can be done? Can I make an isotonic solution instead? How much of Entsol powder should I add to make one?

My grandmother is 77 years old and on dialysis. She was just taken to the hospital last night/this morning with pneumonia and this question might not come out the way I mean it, but what are her chances of recovering from it? I love her to death, she's the only grandparent I have left, but I know that pneumonia is serious for anyone, wether you are 12 years old or 80 years old, and I just want to know with her other health condition (dialysis) exactly what may happen. I know she is also having a problem with the graph in her arm that they use to deliever her dialysis medicine as well. Anyone, maybe with experience, able to give me some information on what to expect?
