I took my 19 year old Son to the Emergency Room for tightness of the chest, and a Cough. He was examined and the Doctor said he had Bronchitis and some fluid in the Lungs (no x-rays were taken). My Son was given Steroids, Antibiotics, and an Inhaler. 2 Days later we took him back to the ER because he was Vomiting, had stomach cramps, and Diarreha. The Doctor then said he had a Bladder problem. so they gave him a Cathiter and kept him overnight. at 2 A.M we got a call that my son was taken to C.C.U. because he was having trouble breathing and his lips and ears were turning blue. 2 hours later he died because as the doctor said (his heart was enlarged and it looked like an old mans heart). The Hospital showed at 10 P.M. he was given Morphine pain. he had an apparent allergic reaction so they gave him 2 doses of Narcan and his heart rate jumped to 200 BPM. then they gave him something to slow his heart rate. It slowed to 45 BPM. at 4:08 A.m my Son Died.

I would be at the lawyers office while writing this question. Yes they should have done an exray when he went to the ER. stomach cramps and diarreha, well the bladder is not the first thing I would think of, and I am not a doctor. I am very sorry for your loss.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your precious boy. NOTHING compares to that pain. I know.
If your family doctor is friendly with you, you might consider consulting with him to see what his reaction is.
An attorney will probably talk to you for no charge. The thing is, you will find that the laws in different states vary WIDELY with regard to death of a child over 18. Some would permit a suit based on the fact that you have suffered a tremendous emotional loss and others would only consider this a loss if your son was providing some service for you, such as something that could have just as well been done by anyone else you might have hired. If you had to hire someone to replace those services, you have suffered financial loss. This is SO unfair, but it's the truth. Only an attorney can tell you what the laws allow in your state. Find that out first before you obtain medical records, etc. It might be simply not worth the trouble to initiate a lawsuit that will not allow a punitive award. The hospital has MUCH deeper pockets than you do.

Who relatively thinks that a 13 300 and sixty 5 days old has more suitable their own religious ideals ? he's a minor and is only repeating what he has been stated. The court docket can rigidity scientific care. specifically in relation to mentally sick people who're risky to themselves or others. Or in the case while somebody is a minor and their mom or father's overlook is risky or probably deadly. Cassie - you're speaking approximately adults and that's real - without consent, a doctor could be charged with attack for treating somebody against their will - besides the undeniable fact that, for this reason we are speaking a pair of minor that's a very distinctive subject.

By all means speak to an attorney. If there was no wrong doing on their part then the attorney will find this out and not proceed. Nine years ago I lost my leg due to an inept physician. I was too afraid to fight him and go to an attorney so I let it go... Since then I have found out from other physicians that he did NOT do the tests that he should have done and most certainly caused my loss.
I still wonder if he has done or is still doing this to other people because I didn't stand up for myself and could I have helped anyone else .
You need to know the truth to find peace and acceptance and to help this from happening to anyone else if it was their fault.
Good Luck and God Bless You in your loss !!!

first I am so sorry for your loss!
It would be wise to have an attorney investigate into what happened...and determine if any malpractice was involved....your family doctor should be consulted also but by your attorney...he can obtain any medical records and proceed with the investigation. This way you are not talking to parties and getting different answers that they can deny or change later it will be a recorded legal process.
Best to you an I hope that you find resolve and Peace

So sorry for your loss. Talk to an attorney see what they say. Money won't replace your son but if the hospital did make a mistake they need to be held accountable. If they didn't make a mistake then fine but at least you will know.

I am so sorry about your son.
Yes, you should be speaking to the attorney. It won't bring your son back, but maybe it will kept it from happening to someone else. If they hospital accepts liability, you can use the money to set up a memorial fund in your son's name.
