It started with a post-nasal drip and bad sore throat. It continued with sinus mucus and drainage. Then slight fever, got into my left ear (and hurt), some body aches, generally not feeling energetic or well. Seems worse overnight and early morning then better as the day wears on. Now it seems to be moving into my chest. Still have a cough, some post-nasal drip but heaviness in my chest and don't feel well at all. It is now about day 9-10. The mucus (I cough up) is mainly whitish (just slightly greenish) and was thick this morning.

Has anyone else had it (it seems to be going around here in NC). How long did it take to get well? At what point should I see a Dr? (I'm not a believer in taking anti-biotics for virus or just for the heck of it).

I'm taking pseudophed, dextromethrophan, guaifenesin, and OJ.

I know that Emphysema is a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) involving damage to the air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. As a result, your body does not get the oxygen it needs. Emphysema makes it hard to catch your breath. You may also have a chronic cough and have trouble breathing during exercise.

But let say that if I suffer from Emphysema,would this finally cause my death if I shall not undergo any form of treatment.Also how long would I take before I die?.

My daughter has been coughing uncontrollably for one month - after seeing the doctor and being told she has a touch of broncitis but no meds given - was told it will wear it self out. Now one month later she is worst than ever with the cough so she was seen again by another doctor in same clinic and was given antibiotics (five pills) along with a new answer for her problem - pnenmonia. What gives?

let me first tell you what meds im on on nexium,veramyst and atenolol for frequent pvcs..im 21 male...this has been almost a month now freqent headachs in sinus area also feels likes pressure waying down on my eyes..main symptom is shortness of breath at times i cant tell if its coming from my throat or chest sometimes it feels like a pressure in my throat restricting breathing other times it feels liek its in my chest sometimes hollow or tight feeling not sure what im feeling when it comes to that..ocassional ear pressure/fullness and ocassional cheek pain..i dont know if all of this is connected but it all started at the same time..now i feel like some of my symptoms seem sinus related..but i have no nasal symptoms at all..i went to primary dr and an ent ent did nasal endoscopy and sees nothing wrong they felt around my throat apparently no swelling..so what do you think could be going on i dont know what to do i know its not anxiety ive been there and done that its a constant feeling

Everyone's mother has said not to go outside in the winter without a coat because you will catch a cold. And definitely don't go outside if you are sweating or have wet hair.

But is this true or just a myth?

A cold is caused by a virus. It is not caused by the temperature. And you are not more likely to encounter that virus if you are outside without a coat.

me and my fiance recently got a new matress after months of him complaining of back pain, now his back doesn't hurt, but I'm not getting any sleep because he is snoring so LOUD. He's never felt better and said he sleeps all nite! ugh!!!!

I just found out that I am about 9 weeks prego. I have a horrible sore throat and lost my voice. Im coughing but I dont have a fever. What can I do or take to get my voice back and make myself feel better? Help!

For the past few days i have had a sinus infection which made part of my upper lip infected and my mom is sure we got most of the stuff out! My mom said that it was a bad sinus infection! Is it possible that the infection made the nerves in my upper lip so agitated, that my upper lip will stay swollen for a few more days?

I keep coughing for like 5 days now and I dont know why..I taken cough meds and its not working. I dont think I have strep I have no fever and my tonsils are clear of white spots. Before you answer,please note: ( and please save the smart alec remarks). Thanks!

I have been coughing for about 4 weeks and I am so congested, I have been so week, my ears ache like there is no tomorrow, my doctor has told me it is an upper resp infection, I am thinking it is something else. I think I have either broken my ribs from coughing or bruised them really bad, I have taken just about every antibiotic out there, please help me.
