So sorry 2 hear your ordeal. Smoking is the cause of so many problems and kids don't realise. Iv been on and off for a few year and I wish I had never lit up a cigarette ever!! Been stopped completely since new years day tho but drum it into your son as much as you can how addictive nd harmful it is. Kids will be kids and we can't watch over them 24/7 so please don't feel bad. I have asthma bad aswell and I had the same sort of thing. I would keep an eye on his breathing. If it worsens or he coughs up red mucus I would get him seen by a dr. Hope you problems sorted soon :(

Possibly the tar coming out of your lungs. I think this is a good indicator that you need to quit. Your health is being affected. You may actually get sicker when you quit (bronchitis or resp infection), but you can get meds and get over that. You probably need to go to doc for a check up with the brown goo.

When you smoke cigarettes, your lungs fill with tar. This is what you are coughing out. It's normal for a smoker.

It could be the tar, resin, etc. from the cigarettes or it could be blood coming up from your lungs due to lung disease. You need to have a doctor take a look at you.
