A runny nose or something? I mean come on people say hey your being an idiot if you believe you can get sick that way - I say chances are you can get sick, common cold or something. Because it doesn't make any sense as to why you would go outside with something wet on when it's cold, COME ON PEOPLE THAT CAN'T BE HEALTHY! So, my question is what can happen - I mean it has to effect your immune system in some way, right?

I want to know the virus that causes the Ebola disease. How it is spread from one person to another and if there's any cure about it. What can the political leaders do to this epidemic?

My doctor hasnt got the test results back yet, but i have a white blister looking thing on my throat, and he says its either staph or mono. Ive missed four days of school already and my mom doesnt want me to miss more. Im on antibiotics but they dont seem to be helping my throat at all, ive been on them for two days and it still feels the same. Should i go to school? or wait until i get another doctors appointment and get properly diagnosed?

She had an outbreak at her daycare and they notified all parents on Monday. Today, I kept her at home with me as shes been running a fever. Appetite is great and she's going potty just fine. Regular bow. movements.

I've read that doctors wont administer anti biotic for mumps and it just has to run its course. Plus Mom and I really don't like hospitals and will only take her if its a true emergency.

One strange characteristic she's displayed though has me concerned. She makes these faces where she'll close her eyes and push her bottom teeth out forward. She's even shed tears during this time as well, looking like she's in pain. But if I distract her with anything, like a toy, she stops doing it and seems to be fine.

Any ideas?

And please...those that want to point fingers and say I'm not wise to take her in, I'd rather not hear from you. We will take her if problems persist but this is the first day shes ran a rather low fever. Tylenol has knocked it out.

I need to describe how the disease symptoms are produced, including any mechanisms of pathogenicity. I have been able to find a lot of info on this, but the problem is that our instructor expects us to put this information into our own words and for it to be easy to understand. Is there anyone out there with a good understanding about this bacterium who can explain it in simple terms to me? I am having a hard time simplifying my information. Thank you! P.S I will not cut and paste an answer :) Just looking for an explanation that will help me to get the ball rolling.

How rare does a medical condition have to be to be considered rare? I'm hoping for an answer like an x number of cases, or incidences/100,000 or x/1,000,000 etc. I am asking both for the technical answer and for opinions as well.

I was wondering if anyone has ever taken the antibiotic Metronidazole? It is commonly prescribed for bacterial infections in the stomache, or pelivs. I recently was prescribed it because I was having very bad pains in my lower side and until the results of my screening come back from the ER doctor they told me to take this as a precaution. My question is regarding the fact that I was told not to mix any amount of alcohol with this med. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this. I know its never good to mix alcohol with prescription meds but my company christmas party is in a few days and I wondered if it would be so bad to have a glass of wine. Please answer me seriously this is a legitimate question.

I have several questions about MRSA as friend's of ours just found out that her husband has MRSA and we were just there on Saturday night- he has an open wound on his stomach and I have 2 small children- our children played together.

1. If you have MRSA- will you always have it?
2. What are the signs of MRSA infection?
3. What are the chances to get it from someone just by being at their house- our children were in close contact, however didn't kiss, etc.

Thank you...
freaking out right now...

Seriously, I can't believe how dangerous our world is and yet people continually overprescribe drugs causing these strains to mutate. I think if you read this you will be shocked to know just how serious all these infections can be.
