My doctor hasnt got the test results back yet, but i have a white blister looking thing on my throat, and he says its either staph or mono. Ive missed four days of school already and my mom doesnt want me to miss more. Im on antibiotics but they dont seem to be helping my throat at all, ive been on them for two days and it still feels the same. Should i go to school? or wait until i get another doctors appointment and get properly diagnosed?

Either or, you shouldn't go to school, for now until you get your results back. A staph is contagious and so is mono, and not good for you if you put any strenious force on your body. U will need plenty of rest if you have mono. A staph should clear up in no time! Let the school know, you can get a medical pass im sure.

Hmm. I think it would be more considerate to the other kids in school not to go until you at least know what you have. There are some things that are really easy to spread around. If your doctor took a throat swab 2 days ago, the bacterial culture should have grown up by now if it's going to. If I were you, I'd call the doctor tomorrow first thing.
Ps. I disagree with the person above; strep is a very common reason for a sore throat, and often involves white ick in a person's throat, but it's not a virus and if you have it, it's very important to get treated with antibiotics to reduce the risk of rheumatic fever.
P.p. s: If you feel up to it, your mother could maybe pick up some assignments from teachers to help keep you from falling too far behind in school while you're sick.

Antibiotics need to run their course through your body longer than two days. Make sure to take all the prescription. Don't stop taking it when the symtoms subside unless you are having bad side effects from the antibiotics. A full run of antibiotics is needed before most see results. If you have taken all the antibiotic as prescribed and there are no changes in your health, I would consult your mother and let her know. She will in return get you back to the physician and demand to the antibiotic had no effect on your condition. Keep taking your prescription. If you find any changes in your condition let your mom know and she will let the physician know.

You know it might also be strep throat which is a virus, and there's not much you can do for it.
Try to stay hidrated, and get as much sleep as possible.
How ever being a nurses assistant would NOT recommend you to go to school until you have been properly diagnosed.
It could be contageous to others around you. And if you do to much walking around, or breath in cold air it could cause the virus/bacteria to spread and then you'll really suffer.
Take it easy
Good luccck =)

You need to get properly diagnosed, so you won't be spreading germs around the school. They will probably give you a note for the days you've been out, ask them about this and see if your mom can't pick up any missed homework at school so you won't get behind on your studies.
Hope all goes well, I'll be praying for your full recovery.

If you might have staph OR mono, it doesn't even matter which one, DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL!!!! Those are highly contagious illnesses, and you will get someone else sick. That is unethical and foolish, and guess what? Parents are on to this, and people are starting to get sued for it, and rightfully so. I repeat: DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL without your doctor's say-so.

I would deffinitely be looking to get either a second opinion, or something. You need to get properly taken care of not only for the safety of yourself, (which is top priority) but the safety of others, too - in case it is contagious... Good luck and take care!

Its really not cool to get others sick if they dont have to be. Its an unecessary risk to go to school I'm sure they understand and will make exeptions for you if you tell them you have mono even if you dont might as well say you do for now.

Umm, obviously you should stay at home until you have the final prognosis. Going back early would not be a responsible action...
