She had an outbreak at her daycare and they notified all parents on Monday. Today, I kept her at home with me as shes been running a fever. Appetite is great and she's going potty just fine. Regular bow. movements.

I've read that doctors wont administer anti biotic for mumps and it just has to run its course. Plus Mom and I really don't like hospitals and will only take her if its a true emergency.

One strange characteristic she's displayed though has me concerned. She makes these faces where she'll close her eyes and push her bottom teeth out forward. She's even shed tears during this time as well, looking like she's in pain. But if I distract her with anything, like a toy, she stops doing it and seems to be fine.

Any ideas?

And please...those that want to point fingers and say I'm not wise to take her in, I'd rather not hear from you. We will take her if problems persist but this is the first day shes ran a rather low fever. Tylenol has knocked it out.

Does she have swollen glands that indicate mumps? Was she vaccinated?

Also, mumps usually has a higher fever, like 101-104, along with a poor appitite and vomiting, so it doesn't sound like it, but keep an eye on her.

High fever and loss of appetite are signs of the beginning of mumps. Your little girl's signs don't quite match the profile, but different systems react differently. There is an old (family practitioner's) test to find out if it's the mumps. Have her suck a lemon half, if she feels pain or discomfort, you know what to do and what the dangers of mumps are......

Usuallywith mumps you have a fever for one day. The incubation period is 14-28 days. One or both sides of the face may be swollen.

The parotid glands, the largest pair of salivary glands, which are located at the angle of the jaw are usually affected.

She might have lower abdomen discomfort and diahhrea.

Usually it takes 10 days to recover and antibiotics will not work because it is caused by a virus.

Hope she feel better soon.

She should have been vaccinated against mumps before she was allowed into daycare. If her glands in her neck and throat are swollen and her face seems puffy and it is hard to swallow she probably has the mumps. Mumps can be very serious especially for those who are very young and adults and pregnant women. Please do not take it lightly

specific they could, if the two events can come to an contract. yet while your bill has already been written down as quickly as earlier, it is not going to get written down returned. it is not very plenty funds. they could basically wait some greater years, and enable the interest and previous due expenditures upload yet another $4 hundred to it, after which the two garnish your wages, or settle for $six hundred.
