Having a pet monkey is a terrible idea if you're about to have a baby. Think about the possible harm or injuries a pissed off or jealous monkey could inflict upon a newborn.

Not to mention any possible diseases that one could carry and transmit, the smell, the diapers, never getting to sleep again cuz the monkey learned how to turn on the lights, trying to keep the monkey out of the fridge, trying to keep the monkey out of everything else

I don't know where u live but why would u want a monkey when it is one of gods creatures to be free. It is not a domesticated animal, like a dog or cat. it needs to have his freedom. But to your question monkeys cary the same diseases as humans do, so I feel this would be a risk to your child

You do not state what primate you are referring to. Since we are also primates, we are susceptible to many of the same parasites, bacteria, viruses, fungal infections.. the list goes on and on. In the US, ownership of a pet simian is usually illegal and requires special permits. If you live here and are found with one, prepare yourself for a whopping fine and possibly a quarantine situation.

The smell would be the biggest - monkeys have a horrible smell all of the time. You walk into someone's home, you can immediately tell they have a monkey. I would not want that in my home, no matter how cute they are.

Bites, viruses, some human diseases. The monkey could get loose and tear up the house or attack the baby or the cat or smash something precious.
