You won't catch a cold that way, but frostbite, hypothermia and pneumonia are possible.

No. You get sick from bacteria/viruses that thrives in your body. There is a few bugs that thrive in colder weather. The Rhinovirus is one of those few, it results in the common cold. Chances are though, that if you were exposed to cold weather, you'd catch a cold regardless of wet hair. I believe 86% of body heat is lost through head. It's one of the reasons humans have adapted hair. Going out into cold weather with wet hair would only accelerate the amount of body heat you lose. So, dry yourself up, wear a hat and dress in layers and you'll be fine.

People don't get sick from being cold or being out in the rain.
People get sick when they go back inside the house thats (nice and warm ) where the germs from all of your visiting friends are waiting for you.
Think about it. You have more people traveling through your house durring the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) that at other times. And, they have visited many other people doing the same thing.

It is commonly believed that exposure to the cold causes a decrease in your immune system, thus making you more susceptible to getting sick. I, myself, haven't seen any research on this, so I don't know for sure.
I can tell you that the very best way to avoid getting sick is by washing your hands frequently. Every time you touch something 'dirty', wash your hands. Any time you hands just feel grubby, wash them. Every time you go to the bathroom, wash your hands.
This has been shown in research to prevent illness.

The last time I checked, being stupid doesn't cause you to get sick, or else there would be a lot of people constantly sick out there. You get sick from infections, (bacterial or viral) not being cold and wet.

several medical schools have tested this, having people stand in icewater soaking wet in walk in freezers, and not one of them got sick. Temperature doesn't make you sick, viruses and bacteria make you sick. Of course, mistreating yourself by doing so, does decrease the effectiveness of your immune system making you prone to catch whatever may be going around.
