Infectious Diseases - January 2007

I am 22 years old and got something called preseptal cellulitis in my right eye about a month ago. That cleared up and then I got pink eye in the left eye. Then after 2 days that cleared up and then I got in the the right eye. For the past 2 weeks it seems like every 3 or 4 days i wake up with one eye crusty and red like I have pink eye and then I put the medicine in and by mid-morning it seems to be gone. I am so TIRED of this. I have changed all my make-up numerous times, washed my sheets numerous times, and sprayed lysol on every surface I touch everyday. What could be going on? Oh, my wisdom teeth have come in on one side of my mouth and one is possibly infected I think - could this be the reason?

I'm 17 and I got mumps (don't you get them when you're a little kid?), how many weeks does it take to heal and is it a bad idea to go out maybe 3 days after the symptoms? If I don't lay in bed for weeks, will it complicate?

A patient who is known to forget things and is terminally ill refuses resuscitation, how can ethical principles be related to this?, and how does this relate to legal issues?
Lets talk about autonomy, consent, and other principles such as beneficence, maleficence, utilitarianism etc.
How does this ethical issues affect the nurses who are supposed to work in the best interest of the patient? It could be that the patient is not fully aware of their choices even when it appears that he/she is.

The average body temp. is 98.6 so if a persons body temp is usually at 96.1 then the thomater reads 98.6. does that person have a fever?

What would make all my muscles and joints ache. I have a really bad rash thats raised big and red with blisters the blisters are kind of drippy, they are all over my body. They don't itch but they hurt really bad. I have a really bad fever and my throat hurts. It is getting more and more difficult to breathe, it feels like something else is already inside my chest. It is so weird my right hand is not working too good right now it looks kind of like a lobster claw. I am starting to get the rash on my scalp I mean am I gonna loose my hair? The rash is in the nether reigons too, talk about pain. I feel really dizzy too. I hope it is not contagious when nobody could see the rash I held my new grandbaby twins. They are so cute, so tiny, a little premature.
Any ideas on what is wrong with me?
