Same thing with gas. How do you pay .9 cents? Just wanted to throw that in to think about too. It's a sales gimmic under 100. by 1 cent. Gotta love it.

Just a marketing gimmick my friend. If they price something at 59.95 then you can tell everyone you got it for under sixty dollars. They do the same with a lot of things like car prices. If you see something priced for 18,000 dollars then see something priced for 17,995. Which are you going to buy?....lol ...All in business price warring my friend.

yeah but where would everyone's penny jars be without all those 1 pence pieces!
and whats even more annoying is when you buy something for £1.99 in a shop and start to walk out without your precious 1p change and the shop assistant shouts after you and you have to go back to get it.

why dont they just make 99p coins??

the reason is because that gets more buyers they put out loudly:"UNDER $100!then they slip in the price, kindda like when they sell medicine, like they have ant-depresant pills and they say fast and quietly, thoughts of sucide may uccur, its like then how does the pill work if you want to die?!
