I have had the damn stomach flu for about four and a half days now and I don't know what to do. I went to the doctor yesterday and she gave me a shot to stop the nausea but I am still very sick. What's wrong with me?!

Hi,

The stomach flu is something you just have to wait and let it play out, as your bodys defenses finally win the battle. One of the few things you can do is to drink plenty of water and fruit juices, at least 8 to 10 8oz glasses daily.

The stomach flu just has to run its course. Did your doctor give you some iv fluids? I won't give home remedies because you are under a doctors' care, I hope you feel better soon. Try to rest and sip liquids when you feel up to it.

You need to make sure that you stay hydrated. If you are unable to keep fluids down you may need to go to ER for IV fluids. Try sucking on popcicles/ jello/ sips of fluids to stay hydrated. There are several types of anti nausea medicines, your Dr may need to give a rx for them, if your unable to keep food down, you may want to opt for a rectal suppository form. Try sips of 7 up or ginger ale.
