I don't know all the ways hepatitis c is contracted so please bear with me here. If a woman is jailed in a prison cell with another woman for 2 months and this other woman has hepatitis c how likely is the other woman to contract the disease? They shared the same toilet, sink, and shower. Should she be tested?

My doctor has given me antibiotics for a chest infection. I had a fever and aches and pains in the days before the infection. I understand that most chest infections are caused by a virus which antibiotics have no effect against. I am against taking antibiotics for anything as the over use and over prescription of them is making them less effective. How could my doctor know it is a bacterial infection rather than a viral infection? She only listened to my breathing with a stethiscope and said one side of my lungs is crackling.
What's your opinion?

I`m a healthy 22 years old man and i have not been sick. I`m anti-HCV positive, HCV PCR negative and have my liver enzymes in the normal level. I`ve got a man and he loves barebacking a lot. Should i allow him to have sex with me without condom? If we decide to bareback can we do anything which will decrease the risk?

I have been reading about the Black Death of the 14th century and became curious as to how a disease is classified and the guidelines used to do so. Is the classification contingent upon mortality rate, number of persons infected, length between infection and onset of symptoms? The plague wiped out 1/3 of Europe's population, but how would it be classified now? I know the common cold could once have been a death sentence, but now we treat it with over the counter meds.

They started almost 4 years ago. Followed by numerous other ailments including, full hyterectomy, infections (too many to list),and then a diagnoses of Fibromyalgia. Before all this began I was extremely active (Blabk Belt in TKD, taught Cardio Kickboxing classes for 2 years, etc. Have been to an Infectious Disease Specialist (put on Valtrex Regime), Nuerologist (Myopothy, Nueropothy, FMS), RA Specialist (FMS). No one can tell me why. I have also have PHN twice. I get them on my trunk - right side. Little foggy right now, but I hope this is enough info. If not, please ask. I want my life back.

About two months ago, I was diagnosed with mononucleosis, but even then, my doctor told me that I was in the "recovery phase". Omg, this tiredness can not still be from that can it? Shouldn't I be over it? I know I can rule out some things...pregnancy is definately one of them. But I am always tired, and it's taking away from my life. I can't perform in school, at work, with the family, or anything the way I used to. What could possibly be wrong?

If anyone has any information about Mono, and how long it will take me to be okay agian, I would greatly appreciate that too. Thanks so much! God bless!

I have recently (1 month ago) gotten a tattoo. It seamed to have healed fine, like all the others I've gotten. But just suddenly 1 1/2 weeks ago the purple color (only) has had a rash, all over the color. All the other colors are fine but the purple parts are all rashed out. What could this be and how can it be treated?
