My mother had an angioplasty done yesterday with stents. When she came out, she was saying she couldnt see. It;s been almost 24 hours and she still can not see. She is only 46 and this should not be happening =( She has strong grips, and nothing changed on her monitors. Also they did a catscan and nothing.

Has anyone been in this situation and had their vision came back shortley? Or does anyone know if it can come back?

How come doctors didn't treat my fathers case seriously? In a month he gained 30lbs had hard time breathing, his diabetes shot up quite high all of a sudden and had phemona(spelled wrong) Went to the hospital drained liquid from abdomen, had hard time with breathing put a oxegen mask on him to help him breath. controlled diabetes and then sent him home a week later. still complained about breathing a water gain, they told him to double then triple his water pills. A week from home we had to rush him to the hospital the second time. He was complained he was so tired went unconcious they performed surgery to take away more water from his heart. Aparently test showed no water origionally then they took more tests and it showed the water. He didn't make it through the surgery his heart stoped. After only 2 hours in the hosptial he passed away. Why did they send him home? I wonder if he would of been saved if they monitered him longer. Apparently his heart showed many scar tissues.

Hi. My husband which is 59 years old went to see the doc today for a check up and when he got home I asked him about the visit and how everything was...

He said that it was all great but his cholesterol was 520.

Okay.. So I am freaking out, I have never heard of it being that high in anyone!

Am I wrong? The Doc didn't give him meds for it because she said it was "coming down" from 540.

Is this doc a moron or am I freaking out over nothing?

Isn't your levels suppose to be around 200?
Is he at risk for a stroke?
I want to call the Doc Monday and find out what she is thinking and why he isn't on meds.. I need some kind of feed back now so I can stop stewing over this.. Thanks in advance!!

He has run out of meds. Doesn't seem to think he will explode. Again. This has been going on for years. Unbelieveable. If he doesn't care about himself - should I care for him? Where is the line drawn between taking responsibility for your own self vs waiting for someone to do it for you? I told him I would set up a Dr. appt. for him. I have done this too many times in the past only to have him no-show or cancel. I guess my question is this - when is it ok to walk away knowing someone will die because they can't deal on their own? Almost 50 years old already. It;'s not my responsibility to make sure he gets to the Dr. and takes his meds... Right?

If I'm sitting for let's say three Hours (Just hypothetical) and during that time my Heart Rate increases or decreases (Not by much), rather than staying one normal pace throughout those 3 Hours, is it normal for a Heartbeat to do that? Or should it be at a flat rate throughout that time.

(On a side note I am playing an action game on the PS3, which could account for the change. But if I wasn't playing on the PS3, if I was just sitting in front of my Computer chatting on MSN or something, would that be normal?)

I got a stress test done about a year ago because I was having problems running. When I was younger I was diagnosed with sports induced asthma and put on an inhaler. When I asked my new doctor to write a prescription for an inhaler he hooked me up to an EKG, and a daily heart monitor for 1 week. When I did my stress test my heart rate was over 200 and I was walking uphill. I was fine, no pain. When I run I get a sharp pain along with a lot of pressure at my sternum, I cough a lot and I have a burning sensation while breathing. I need to breathe through my mouth because I become short of breath. This is the kicker, this happens only after about 2 minutes of jogging at a 9minute mi pace. Now as of now I am not really in shape per se I mean i'm a tiny thing but I haven't worked out in about 3 months. But when I did my stress test I was training for a .5 marathon I was runnin 5 mi a day. What is wrong with me? Anyone have any answers?

How does a heart attack feel? I'm only 29 (M) and get a severe sharp pain in the bottom left part of the heart every once in a while. I'm not sure if I can describe it properly, but it feels to me like a small part of the heart muscle is stuck behind a rib or something and can't get out of there. The pain is usually relieved after 15-30 seconds but only after I make a movement with my body (as if to give it more air) and press a little at the place where it hurts. Doctors say I'm completely ok, ECG is normal, I've had slight arrhythmia since birth, but am otherwise healtyh (knock wood). Does this 'qualify' as a heart attack or does anyone know what it is? The doctors are clueless but claim it's not a heart attack. Can anything be done to prevent this? Not that life is a picnic, but still - I'm too young to croak lol lol!! Thx. :)

I am a white 26 year old woman who went to the hygenist yesterday and my blood pressure was 134/95. They remarked to me and left it alone. I think chalking it up to fear. The commented that that was high for me though. Today I went back for a filling and it was still high, they sent me over to the clinic where they said I have to come in everyday and monitor my BP on a chart. How serious is this? I'm worried because if something happens to me I don't know who will take car of my kids.

I had an appointment with the hygenist yesterday and my blood pressure was 134/95 nad then I had another appointment with the dentist, it was still high so they sent me over to the clinic, where they also said that it was high. I now have a leaflet to keep track of my BP readings and I have to go in all the time to have it checked. Am I going to have a heart attack, should I be concerned about who is going to take care of my kids if I do. How bad is this?

My mother aged 58 had an Angioplasty done in Apr-2006. She has been having high blood pressure since 1993. Yesterday she was admitted in a hospital in India coz she was complaining of severe cold and experienced chest pain and fainted. In Nov'07, she is planning to visit me in the US. The travel time and duration of flight will be over 20 hrs. I am worried about this travel coz my uncle got a heart attack and expired while landing from a flight on his way from Kuwait to India. Is it safe for my mother to travel?
