The 134 is not much to worry about, the 95 is high. If the bottom number is over 90 it is time to start monitoring you blood pressure (same thing if the top number is over 140). It is good to keep blood pressure readings on at least a daily basis, at the same time of day. This is so that your physicians can identify whether this is an isolated elevated reading or if you now have chronic high blood pressure. Long term uncontrolled high blood pressure is a serious problem, but the good thing is that controlling blood pressure is easy to do with diet, exercise, and medications. I can't guarantee, but I doubt you will be having a heart attack or saying goodbye to your kids as a result of this blood pressure reading.

If your dentist is like mine, they take your BP on your forearm....your pressures will be higher there in the first place. Secondly you didn't say your age or race which will play a part in it. Or if you smoke. If you are black, you have an increased risk of hypertension. If you smoke, again, an increased risk so stop. This is something you have control over. What did the clinic say? How did they take your BP? These are all things you need to know. How they measure it is also important. You won't be "diagnosed" as having hypertension until you've had 3 consectutive readings on 3 seperate visits with a physician. You were/are obviously stressed about this, so in part, when you were at the clinic, that may have contributed to your pressure being high. Your diastolic (lower) number is out of range. However, not the worst I've seen. And again, would be monitored by a physician before determining whether a problem. And....if taken by the dentist on your forearm.....not a reliable measurement. I hope this makes some sense. If you are a young woman, I wouldn't worry too much about having a heart attack. I would however, make an appointment with a doctor and get follow up as soon as I could and keep the appointments. Good luck!

Why was your dental hygentist taking your blood pressure? That's strange. Perhaps your reading was high simply because you were in a doctor's office, specifically a type of doctor known for causing fear and pain! Your reading is not that bad, it's barely even borderline. Keep checking it regularly and I bet you will notice a trend to it, like lower in the morning and higher after a stressful moment. You won't do any real damage to your body unless your bp is 180/100, so no you are in no danger right now of having a heart attack or stroke or anything that would jeopardize you taking care of your kids or working or driving or exercising.
Here's my personal story: At age 14, my blood pressure was 145/90 which is high for that age group and no one did anything...by age 19 I was reading 220/140 and having headaches on a daily basis and almost had a stroke one day. I saw a different doctor who immediately ordered a lot of tests and exploratory surgery and discovered I was born with only one functioning kidney. So it's assumed I've had hypertension my entire life. I have suffered a lot of damage from it: artery disease, premature atrial contractions (irregular heartbeat), palpitations, and have damaged my tricuspid valve to the point that it does not close. Been on medication everyday since I was 19. My mom, on the other hand, had never had a problem with blood pressure until she was 57, and then hers sky-rocketed to 240/115. Turns out she had congestive heart failure (where the sack around your heart becomes filled with fluid which caused your heart to work harder which causes it to enlarge which causes your body to retain fluid which causes you to develop a bad case of pneumonia....yeah, big chain reaction). My mom got on the right meds and is doing great.
So keep track of your numbers and go to all your appointments. Change your diet by eliminating salt, fatty foods and increasing water and fruits and veggies. Exercise regularly. Reduce stress...see a counselor or take anti-anxiety meds if needed and do not feel guilty about having to do this (I did after refusing to for years and noticed a huge difference). If you get put on blood pressure meds, be sure to take them as directed. Hypertension is called the Silent Killer because you won't notice symptoms and people tend to not take medicine if they don't feel a difference.

It is high but not very bad. Keep getting it checked and if it doesn't come down soon, they will probably put you on medication. But yoga, breathing exercises, listening to soothing relaxing music, exercise, playing physical games, reducing salt in food etc. will help you keep the BP below 130 / 90 or even down to 120 / 80.
If you mail me, I can discuss your problem further. FREEly I assure you.

It is close to the upper limit of the normal range. It is good that you knew it before it could cause any problem.
You have to take care that it doesn't rise further.
Regular routine, no smoking, light physical exercise, adequate sleep, yoga + meditation & periodic check ups as advised, - all these are important.
No, it is not going to cause heart attack, relax!
Good luck!

Its high, but probably not high enough to cause a heart attack---otherwise they'd put you on BP meds.
Lose some weight, and get some exercise--walk with your kids or something. Getting fit will bring it down without drugs.
