You are right to be concerned, as low cholesterol cam be an indicator of other underlying problems. Regardless of the thumbs down this answer normally gets, no one ever posts evidence to the contrary. Low cholesterol is associated with all manner of health problems, the question is, is it causal or just a relationship?
It is important that your doctor understands that cholesterol can be too low. Because of the way things are, everyone believes that cholesterol is this some evil poison and the less we have the better, including most in the medical fraternity. This is simply not the case.
This not meant to be scaremongering, just an effort to inform.

Should seriously concern this for people over 40 years old with untreated hypertension, regular alcohol drink, and some other risk factors like deficiency of potassium and Bs; etc. as AHA reported higher risk in 1999 meeting.

Many foods and drinks around are high cholesterol like egg yolk, livers, meat, cheese, milk.

If she doesn't eat meat, she should start. other things for her to eat are eggs, milk, and cheeses. Look at the labels and see how much cholesterol is in each item that she eats. I am not sure how much is to much but I know that if she is low she should get her count up.
