My blood pressure has been pretty low lately too for some reason. Every time I look up while standing I get so terribly dizzy, it's awful. I'm 40 years old, female and I have always had great blood pressure. But for some reason now, it's low and these dizzy spells are becoming more frequent, more intense and longer lasting. Also, my pulse runs anywhere from 100 to 115 lately too.

A friend told me he experience occasional pains in the chest and when they took his Lipid Profile he had high cholesterol. I wonder if this can be used as a first sign that your cholesterol is high.

If the endocrynologist told me not to run track, but it's my senior year in high school, because my thyroid is out of wack and my heart is palpatating, should I not run? I was thinking about not telling my mom and running around town while she's at work. They told me there is chance of going into cardiac arrest, should I lay off on the working out until I know more or should I do what I want and stop if it really is as serious as they think? Please help if your opinions are nice and you really want to help. ;)

I was wondering this because you would think that the left side would need 3 cusps to get blood around the systemic circuit.

I recently found out that both my total chol and LDL's are high (225 and 160). This is a consistent pattern over the last couple of years. It's in my family and I am aware of the importance of diet and exercise and not smoking already. I would like to know which medications effect the liver the most and what success or lack of success people have had with the statins or any other cholesterol medications they are taking. I am going to start taking one, but haven't decided which one or how many there are. Thank you in advance.

I have just had my yearly cholesterol results and I have gone up 2 points despite a fairly rigid diet. I am 5' 5" and weigh 125lbs, I take 20mg statin tabs daily, drink pomegranet juice and only use pro-active spreads - no chocolates etc. HELP how can I bring my level down?

Next week I am getting a cardiac event monitor due to persistant palpitations that have been driving me crazy. My question is, that my palpitations are like only 1 or 2 beats- by the time I press the button to activate the monitor, it will probably be over. I read some info stating that these monitors record a little before the button was hit and a little bit after, but something else I read said they only record once the button is pushed. Does anyone have experience with these? I would hate to have to keep my hand on that button all day in anticipation!

I have a friend who was 19 or 20 and she recently died in her sleep from a blood clot that was too close to her heart. This now has me worried as to what caused it because i don't know what causes blood clots. She was overweight, but i don't know if that would have to do with it. Now that has me worried because of course i don't want that happening to me or anyone else i know so can anyone tell me what causes a blood clot like that this young, and how can you prevent that. She basically had a heart attack from what i was told.
