The grade refers to the intensity or loudness of the murmur. Grade 1 is barely audible so grade 2 would be slightly louder. Systolic refers to the heart compressing (beating) to pump blood out of the heart. That must be when the murmur is present. It is likely that the defect is causing the murmur. I believe murmurs below grade 4 are considered "innocent", i.e. not harmful but I'm not a paediatric cardiologist. Speak to your doctor for clarification if you are worried.

Good luck

The medical term Systolic is applied to the forceful contraction of the heart in pumping the blood round the body, Diastolic phase is the resting period of the heart between beats, These two phases of the heartbeat is what the doctor /nurse listens for while taking your blood pressure. the murmur can come from a number of factors including congenital defects of which there are many causes.Heart murmurs are caused by blood being forced over or through a defect in the heart such as a narrowed valve.

see heart murmur means d valves of the heart r defected i.e dey don close properly.der is a sequence in the working of heart.see heart is a four chambered structure and it is divided into two side right and left.right side contains of deoxygenated blood while d left side contains oxygenated blood.so each side has upper and lower chamber so on both d sides upper chamber gets filled first and den lower chamber gets filled.so a particular fixed amount of blood is passed from upper chamber of each side to the lower chamber and to prevent overflowing of blood from upper chamber to lower chamber and to prevent backflow of the blood der r valves on each chamber so wen d valves r working fine wen u hear ur heart beat is sounds like LUB-DUB but wen d valves r not in proper condition i.e wen dey don't close properly even after filling d lower chamber some amount of blood leaks from d incompletely closed valves so at that time u can hear mur mur kind of sound

it can b present with congenital heart diseases..i don't knw much bout the grade.
