QRS interval should prolong if systole is too slow and QT interval should prolong if diastole is too slow. Tachycardia should ensue if both these are fast.

When the diastole is slow? what?

An EKG is an electrical representation of the hearts electrical activity. There are several componets of if, the P wave, R wave, QRS complex, and the T wave.

Diastole and systole are terms used for blood pressure. So Im assuming you mean if your b/p is low or high how does it affect the EKG? Im not sure that it does, because your heart rate is what would affect an EKG. You HR goes up in response to a low blood pressure, its a compensatory mech. of the body. When your HR is high, (tachycardia) your EKG will show tachycardia, or fast qrs complex's. If they are all normal and how they are supposed to look, it is called sinus tachycardia. And vice versa for slow HR, called bradycardia.

If your trying to learn what and EKG is, this is not the place to look honestly. I am a nurse, I went through classes to learn this stuff, but it is not somthing you can learn easily.
