A friend told me he experience occasional pains in the chest and when they took his Lipid Profile he had high cholesterol. I wonder if this can be used as a first sign that your cholesterol is high.

high cholesterol may adhere or stick to the walls of your blood vessels and may eventually harden and form plaques, if so, then your blood vessel if partially occluded. Little blood could get through the narrowed blood vessel making your heart receive less oxygenated blood. When the heart or any part of the body is deprive of oxygen the first symptom will be PAIN. there a lot of other things that could be causing your chest pain though, it could be a blood clot narrowing your blood vessel and not necessarily cholesterol plaques. It could be also be an arrhythmia or an abnormal heart beat. :-)

That is a good sign of an impending heart attack. He better get that cholesterol down fast and stop playing Russian Roulette with his body.

High cholesteril levels ae one of the major risk factors for coronary heart disease, which can cause chest pain. so hight cholesterol can be associated wit hchest pain due to coronary Heart Disease (angina pectoris)

thats what happened to me.high cholestrol will clog your veins and you will end up like me with a heart by-pass.i had a by-pass 10 yrs ago and now i take pravochol to keep it lowered.to answer your question,that a very good sign to get to your drs.
