The systolic reading (the first number) is the pressure in your arteries when the blood has been pumped out of the heart, this should read somewhere between 100 and 140

The diastolic reading (the second number) is the pressure in the arteries when your heart is at rest. This should read somewhere between 60 and 90.

Your blood pressure is normal.

120 over 80 is considered normal.

Normal = Less than 120 Less than 80
Prehypertension = 120–139 over 80–89
High blood pressure
Stage 1 = 140–159 over 90–99
Stage 2 = 160 or higher over 100 or higher

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Blood Pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood at right angles to the walls of the blood vessels. The average normal BP (blood pressure) is 120/60. So 137/60 is fine.

The upper reading is the systolic pressure and the lower one is the diastolic. Systole is the contraction of the chambers of the heart, driving blood out of the chambers. Diastole is the period of time when the heart relaxes after contraction.

Actually if you do not watch your diet and exercise a little more, you can be looking at hypertension. You are at the prehypertension stage right now. Normal readings range from the top number (systolic, represents the maximum pressure exerted when the heart contracts) and the bottom number (diastolic, represents the pressure in the arteries when the heart is at rest). I hope this helps.

I've never heard of any life threatening consequences of having low blood pressure. It doesn't feel too pleasant, but as far as I understand, low blood pressure by itself isn't dangerous. Many people with hypertonia will envy you. Actually, 99 over 60 is somewhat on the lower end, but is still normal, just as the nurse said.

the healthcare professional will pump the sphygnomanometer whilst listening to your pulse with a stethoscope.

When the pulse can no longer be heard, this is the first number.
When the pressure is released and the pulse can be heard again this is the second reading.

The blood pressure can give indicators of the health of your heart and arteries. Your blood pressure reading is normal.

That's absolutly fine.

The top number (systolic) is the pressure in your arteries when you heart is contracting i.e squeezing blood out

The bottom number (diastolic) is the pressure in your arteries when your heart is relaxing.

Doctors are concern when you blood pressure is about 150/90 on consecutive readings.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/rRaPg

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Seems that the reading has been taken on Dynamap? THE READING IS NOT NORMAL. Take the reading with a mercury sphygomanometer (BP Apparatus). You should take 2 readings daily (morning / Evening) for one week in lying, sitting, and standing postures, and proper record to be maintained.OK, if reading is within normal limits nothing to worry. It is in your interest that you go and consult your cardiologist as pulse pressure difference is more > 40mm Hg.
