I'm 15 years old. and sometimes I have a strong heart beat ( especially when I'm thinking and when I'm stresses) and sometimes I get it even when I'm normal. I have that sometimes once in 1 month and I went to the doctor and he said that my heart is fine . What do those strong beats mean?

"Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart
attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating
improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only
about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing
repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should
be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep
and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep
inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two
seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until
the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing
movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood
circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also
helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart
attack victims can get to a hospital." (Thanks to the author
who put this up in a forum"

I have been taking BP at home (it also gives the pulse rate)
I've been taking it sitting and standing, left arm and right arm at different times and keeping track for doc.
These were taken right after each other.
Right arm 170/103 pulse73 (sitting)
Left arm 130/90 pulse 52
When this spike happened my left eye got all blood red.
Another example
Right arm 160/92 pulse 82 (sitting)
Left arm 132/108 pulse 91
Last year did necular stress test, showed 8 % heart not getting blood. Had angiogram, Doc said "no visible plaque so the stress test must have been a false positive, it's got me stumped"
I have daily chest pain, pain down right arm, right temple pressure sensation (not a headache) that feels like a strain, venous blood gas test showed very low oxygen in blood, head feels like I'm not getting proper oxygen or blood.
I don't know what to think...please help if you can.
The cardiologist said I dont need a follow-up appt.
This feels like there is something very wrong.

I will be 24 tomorrow. My father has high bp, so my parents had a bp thing you put on your finger to measure it. We all play with it, but mine is always way higher than everyone elses. Then we got a wrist thing that reads bp. It is always way higher too. Am I too young?

My dad (76 yrs old) otherwise quite healthy, has just been diagnosed with several blocked arteries, but no damage to the heart. He was given a few options, the one with the best outcome being bypass surgery. Of course, we all know, this entails splitting open his chest. Who wouldn't be terrified. I know its a procedure that is being done more and more with greater success, but want to know what to say to him to ease him (if possible) thru this. What is the recovery period like, and how long? Both my parents have a cruise booked for July, I would sure like to see them go on it.
I need comforting too.

My niece, age 16, was born with a congenital heart defect. The defect was repaired, but her body has outgrown the surgery and she is not doing well. She is presently at a hospital in the midwest...does anyone have experience with excellent pediatric cardiology departments in the U.S. and would be able to recommend a hospital or doctor?

I'm 34, 5', 125 lbs. I don't smoke, drink a little. The past few months or so every once in awhile it feels like my heart is flipping over. It beats super hard. It happens most at night when I'm resting. My blood pressure is a little high but not high enough for medicine. My pulse as been high lately. I'm under some stress but the same amount that I have been for months. It has been increasing in frequency lately and sometimes it's hard to catch my breath right when it's happeneing. I felt a little lightheaded the other night but I'm not sure if that's because I got scared. Anyone have any ideas?
