I realize this is serious but I don't know what the good and bad levels are. Everything I have found doesn't mention anything about levels being in the 500's. Thanks Jan

I monitor my blood sugar regularly through out the day, fasting, before & after meals and at bedtime. On normal days my readings are normal but whenever I am stressed emotionally or physically I see significantly higher blood sugar levels than normal. I exercise regulary and watch my diet; I am keeping a journal of what I eat, my readings and how my day has gone. I am seeing a pattern of increased blood sugar levels on the occasions I feel extreme stress and I am aware at these times that my heart is responding with "fight or flight" symtoms. I would really like some help and insight with this and what types of things I can do to help myself. Thank you,

My Dr. says if I do not lose 50 lbs, I will be diagnosed as diabetic. She says my body does not produce enough insulin to support 218 lbs. I am 5'7 and wear an 18. She wants me to get down to 170. She gave me Metformin to help control my sugar. I am working out at least 3 x a week and try to increase that to daily. I have stopped reg soda, only diet or water. I still have an issue with sweets and am working on that too. So, can I take Metabolife with this medication? I also wanted to include a green tea pill and I already take a water pill because I retain water a lot! Can I mix these 3? Any advise on how to mentally trick myself to get over chocolate?

My 69 year old diabetic father had his 4th & 5th toes & part of his foot amputated due to a staph infection from an open sore on the bottom of his foot. He is scheduled to have skin graphing done w/in a few days after new tissue is produced using a vac pump. His dr. wants to amputate the remaining 3 toes claiming he will function better (balance), even though it isn't medically necessary. Has anyone experienced this??

I'm type 2 diabetes, and I was wondering if I can drink once in a while. I just drink on special occasions usually, and I don't drink much. Anyway, my sugar level has never been low, really, so would it be okay if I drank? Or should I just forget about my drinking days?
