first of all ....you are 14 so odviously you aren't going to the gym...duh on that one...it isnt like you can drive and most gyms cost money right?

here's some suggestions...one of my close friends in elementary school had the SAME thing happened. She was always big and it was just the way we accepted her to be. Well her blood sugar showed bad so her mother put her on a special Weight Watchers Diet.

first of all, listen to me on this one...Losing weight is hard...you should know right? Your mom and dad are supposed to be helping you. Go to your school nurse or counselor or gym teacher or someone at school (adult) that you can trust. and tell them what you just told us!

Do you have friends that need to lose weight too? involve them.

there are tons of things that you can do in your own bedroom ...jogging in place...lifting free weights, sit ups, push ups, yoga....
for starters...get rid of the remote control hon...it was the FIRST thing I did. I got up and walked to the television....
secondly....when you eat make sure to drink lots of water through the day and always have a small glass with you during meals!
water is the best thing for your body.

you have access to the internet. Look up support groups online for chubby kids! There are tons...look for .ORG or even .GOV or .EDU sites..mostly! find one..get a buddy and maybe send your parents an email...

how bout leaving a picture of before and after out for them to see

dont feel discouraged but you MUST feel that you can do this With or with out help! that is important. I wish you the BEST of luck.

Chelly-
Nonsense to the answer that says her child has "real diabetes." That is a mean and false statement. Diabetes is actually two different disorders.

You have type 2 diabetes. This is happening in epidemic proportions to youngsters who weigh too much. It means your cells have a layer of fat that prevents insulin from acting as a key to let your sugar be moved from your blood into the cells. Doctors call this insulin resistance.

Your "cure" of the diabetes happened because you lost weight and exercised. When you put weight on, the diabetes returned. It can definitely happen again but you must plan to eat right and play hard for life. I say play hard because your exercise should be something fun that you love to do.

My daughter is a type one diabetic who uses an insulin pump; she is also insulin resistant and must take a type 2 drug called metformin to help control her blood sugars. She controls her diabetes with insulin, metformin, a careful diet, and lots of dancing (ballet and ballroom), up to 10 hours a week. The exercise is a lot more fun than taking the drugs.

You have a great opportunity here to improve you health and your life. Read and have your mom read a book called "Diabetes Solution." There is all the information you need to bring your diabetes under control, all the good reasons to do so, and lots of encouragement. Take classes that let you have fun with other kids of all sorts. Learn to skate, dance, horseback ride, play tennis, soccer or swim. Make a point of being really active 30 or 40 minutes a day- every day before you sit to play computer or watch TV.

Several facts that can help you:
1. Exercise makes insulin work better.
2. Cells with an extra fat layer cannot use insulin very well.
3. When your cells cannot get the sugar out of your blood because the insulin cannot work, the pancreas pumps out more insulin.
4. That extra insulin helps your body store more fat.
5. You can reverse all this and feel energetic.

Good luck. I Know you want to feel good. Get healthy! Good Luck!

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Hon a 14 year old can not "have" diabetes one day and not have it the next. Juvenile onset diabetes is caused when the pancreas fails to produce insulin. If at the age of 14 you had diabetes you would be taking insulin injections several times a day at mealtimes and bedtime. You had some slightly elevated numbers and those numbers wouldn't even be accurate unless they were fasting numbers. What you do need to do however is exercise daily to keep your weight under control. I have a 15 year old who has had type 1 diabetes for 5 years and we consider him under tight control when his numbers are 135-150. By the way, diabetic children who truly are diabetic sometimes do start out chubby but are usually rail thin. p.s. when my son was diagnosed with diabetes, his numbers were in the 900's

According to recent studies conducted by the Pritikin Longevity Center, diabetes starts from too much fat in the diet and insufficient exercise, not malfunction of the pancreas as previously thought. The pancreas continues to produce insulin when you have diabetes but the body becomes insulin resistant. Research has shown that over 90% of diabetes cases can be CURED with diet and exercise. That means that you don't have to have limbs removed due to diabetes-induced gangrene. You don't have to go blind or suffer cardiovascular abnormalities because of diabetes. You can actually REVERSE these conditions with diet (nutrition, not weight loss) and exercise, and the removal of parasites and candida.

The diabetes illness might be reversed simply by taking on some changes in lifestyle. The diet program really should be comprised of plenty of fiber and whole foods. Try to eat four to six meals/snacks spread out equally during a day. Commence exercising consistently. Dietary supplements can be helpful as well. Flax oil, a daily multivitamin with minerals, gymnema sylvestre, blueberry leaves, billberry, as well as barberry should should be considered.

Biggest help I can give would be this: More active fun. Rollerblade/ice skate, running, gardening, whatever you like to do that's active- do more of that and less TV/video games, etc. Walking is good exercise too. Maybe you could walk a few blocks every day looking for aluminum cans to recycle for money or just walk to look at the view. Eating right is important to, but I have a hard time doing that and I'm an adult. Good luck

say this, my boyfriend has been type 2 diabetic since he was 1 1/2 years old..it could either be hereditary or may be due to other reasons. a strict diet and consistent exercise is a way of preventing it from getting serious. sad to say but once you acquire this condition, there is no escape. that will be there for good. so yeah, a strict dieat and exercise regime is the only recourse.
