Get some sugar quickly.

Here are the best quick fixes:
2 or 3 glucose tablets
1/2 cup (4 ounces) of any fruit juice
1/2 cup (4 ounces) of a regular (not diet) soft drink
1 cup (8 ounces) of milk
5 or 6 pieces of hard candy
1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar or honey

A diabetic will usually have candy or the pills on them but anyone who works near or with a known diabetic would be wise to have a candy bar, glucose pills, or something handy just in case.

See the link below for more information. The state of low blood sugar is called Hypoglycemia and is not limited to those with diabetes.

Getting an insulin shot would be the OPPOSITE of what you want to do. Insulin treats hyperglycemia not hypoglycemia. Hyperglycemia is a condition of too much sugar in the blood. Insulin helps metabolize the sugar so taking an insulin shot when low on blood sugar would worsen the situation.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

sudden lowering of blood sugar levels is called hypoglycemia.

in such cases a diabetic can do one of the below.

1. eat two spoons of sugar immediately or

2.eat glucose biscuits or

3. fruit juice with added glucose or sugar.

it is always better to consult the doctor about this falling sugar levels. it cud be due to many reasons such as insulin over dose or incorrect diet etc.

two more important points are,

1.it is always avdisable to maintain regular diet timings and correct amount of food should be taken.

2.too much starving or taking higher doses of insulin is not right.

so consult a doctor and get ur sugar levels checked and take right advice about diet and also medication dosages which may be needed to be readjusted as per ur sugar levels..

it depends how u menaging ur sugur level , r u on diet , taking drugs or insulin, your level of activity , presence and absence of other diseases or complication of of diabetes it self.
In diabetic patient blood sugur can be suddenly low if he missed the meal , if he do unusaul excercise, or over dose itself. Many patient who are controling there sugur aggressivly are prone to develop hypoglycemia. Usualy patient recognise the hypoglycemic symptoms easily ,but it a problem in old age , especialy those patient taking oral drugs and have kidney problem .
Wel if the patient is conscious hypoglycemia can easily be treated by giving sugur by mouth , any thing edible it can be glucose, juice, sweets ect. if the patient is unconscious then urgent help is necessary (although u can put some some of these thing in mouth but be care full that patient should not aspirate). it is treated in ER by giving intravenous glucose or glucgon. Some of the patient who are wel educated about there disease and know how to inject intra musculerly , glucgon inj. are given to them and this can be used at home or out side the hopital . Please remmber that this is not always effective.
Following an hypoglycemia if u r on insulin and there is no other reason obvious, u need to reduce the insulin does by 20%befor u consult ur doctor on appointment. IF U R ON ORAL DRUGS please visit ur doctor soon .
BEST OF LUCK

eat some candy.

Actually, about papeche's answer, if a diabetic person has some problem, sugar level must be measured before doing anything, it's wrong to give candy if the sugar level is high. A guy did that to my grandpa, and his sugar got too high and he had a heart problem and he died, so please just check. Diabetic persons usually have an easy to use blood sugar level measuring device.

If I go low, I always have glucose tabs in my purse, my desk and in my car but if I didn't I would ask for orange juice. It increases your sugar quickly. If all else fails I would ask for a regular coke. and drink about half of it.

Of course the goal in controlling diabetes is steady blood sugar. One should try to not go "low" or "high" to begin with. Having said that, I highly recommend the glucose tabs, they are extremly portable and don't go bad.

my hubby is diabetic and if his sugar gets low he has to drink a small cup of orange juice or regular soda or even a piece of hard candy. They even sell products made for diabetics to carry around in case of an emergency.
