I was overweight to begin with, but holding steady. But shortly after I sarted using long-lasting insulin, my weight started creeping up, by as much as 10 pounds so far. My diet and exercise seem to be the same. OK, maybe I've been less conscientious about my diet since the insulin has been so effective in controling my sugar, but I don't think 10 pounds worth. Am I blaming the insulin when it's all me?

Not over weight. Moderate drinker...I like my wine in the evening but not a lot. I eat a good diet. But have been exercising less.

If I restart my old regiment of exercise IE running and weight lifting, is it possible that I could rebound and recover from this without taking these crappy meds? (metformin for about a week now)

Would love to hear some inputs because these meds make me feel like crap as before I didnt even know my blood sugar was high at 124.

I am diabetic for the past 3 years and South Indian aged 37. My Fasting Blood Sugar in Morning is always in the range of 150 - 200. But the Random Sugar level in evening drops down to the range of 100 - 150 with out any medication when tested 6 hrs after a normal south Indian Lunch and sugarless Tea in between. I check the sugar levels at Lab weekly once. My daily diet is Light breakfast, Normal Rice Lunch and Dinner with Chappathi avoiding Sweet items.
Is it normal to have high Sugar level in Morning? Please advise.

I woke up and tested my blood sugar and it was at 201. I decided to take my medicine to try to bring it down. ( 1 glucotrol, 1 metformin ) Before taking the pills though, I ate a Strawberry poptart - 2 pastries which equalled around 28grams of sugar because i've had bad experience taking metformin on an empty stomach. I layed back down and slept for about an hour or so and woke up feeling somewhat lethargic. I figured my blood sugar dropped below 100 because of the medicine so I tested my blood sugar and it read 425. Can anyone explain this? I've had my levels sky rocket this high before, and I feel okay, so dont be worried I am just looking for some answers.
