I use the one touch ultra. Depending on what your machine is doingQ Is it showing an error? You need to make sure that you code the machine to the code on the bottle of strips first. When you first put a strip in you can use the button to change the number, when it matches stop or press ok. Then when it beeps it is ready for blood. Put the tip of the strip up to your blood so the strip can suck it up and it should display the reading. You don't need alot of blood, but enough to fill the little slot that sucks the blood up. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help!

There's an 800-number on the box of test strips, and it should also be in your manual.
In Canada, it's 1-800-663-5521 but it's not 24/7.
The Ultra lancet comes with a clear cap that will allow you to take blood samples from your arm. The clear cap allows you to avoid hair follicles. But the results are different from the arms than from the fingers, so first, run it by your doctor. And you'll need to find the appropriate range. Taking it from your arm is supposed to be easier, so that might be all that you need.

Have you dropped it, because that will cause a problem, you will have to send for a replacement. Call the 800 number and give them the serial number of you meter, they will have your name,, and send you a new one within 24 hours. There is a problem with this type of meter anyway and the manufacture is aware of it so you will not have a problem with replacement. Do try what the others have suggested as well.

All of the above, plus make sure the drop of blood is larger than a BB. I have trouble getting enough blood on those strips because I don't bleed very easily

when I have had trouble in the past I have called the 1-800 and explained the problem to the tech on the phone. They were able to talk me through what was wrong, they can trouble shoot with you and if that doen't clear up the problem they can send a replacement.

Be sure the strip is inserted properly and fully. Make sure the drop of blood is applied so as to be "sucked up" by the strip. Make sure the meter is calibrated to the same number on the test strip container.

Start with your manual. Have you cleaned your unit? Are your strips OK? Are you obtaining enough blood sample? Your manual should have a 'trouble shooting' area.
