I assume u r fasting as it is Shiva ratri.
One avoids rice usually if ur a south indian.
Or only one time 'food' as such.
But some have only fruits.
It is said the lesser energy the body has to spend on digesting food,the more energy it gets to focus on Lord Shiva.
And the body becomes more receptive to the universal energy!!!!!

I'm a practicing Catholic, during Lent season we usually do it on Wed and Fri. Its a No eat, No drink for one day. From morning till evening.

yes it is from sunrise till moonrise. and the best Way of fasting is to remain on fruits. one should avoid food stuff for one day if u r strict towards your fast.

u can do it half day,from 6 am to 12 noon,u can choose to do dry fasting,fruit fasting or any other way ur religion advises

Fasting isn't healthy. I don't know how old you are or why you would do this. If you want to lose weight talk to your doc and get a good healthy diet.

depends why you are fasting - muslims fast btwn sunrise and sunset - no food, water or medication. in some faiths fast means no food but water. a dietary fast means no solid food, but juices are allowed as well as water.

It depends on the reason you are fasting......When I fast I just have water for that day. If you are fasting for religious reasons it would depend on your beliefs.
