Cut out sugar. No pop, no candy or other sweets. If you want to eat a banana or orange, only eat small ones since they are very high in sugar. If you drink coffee, use sweetener in it. If you eat cereal, buy grain cereal not the sugar coated stuff. Lose weight (if you are over-weight). Drink more water, but do not put anything in it; like cyrstal light. Do not eat chips or cookies or ice cream all the time; maybe once a week or so. Add a veriety of vegi's and fruits to your diet. Try not to eat fast-food or pre-made microwave meals as they are high in fat AND sugar. if you were/are prescribed medication, take it.

Some thing people don't realize or know is if your blood sugar is high you DON'T exercise!!! Exercise causes your sugar to go higher because you are burning up the insulin that is in your body. You do need to drink lots of water to help flush the sugars out. It is also possible to get ketones in your urine, which is a bad thing. When your sugars goes high you also need to check your ketone levels in your urine. You can buy some urine strips at the pharmacy that checks for ketones. Get yourself a diabetic educator. I see one and I can call him 24/7 if I have ANY problems. He gives me advice on adjusting my insulin and so forth. Their so great!! Best of luck to you.

If your blood sugar level is too high you need to drink lots of water and eat something that is high in protien such as a can of Tuna with NO mayo or a lean steak. Protien takes more energy to digest where as carbs, sugars etc, take less effort and become sugar in the body more readilly.

if you are a diabetic you should do what your doctor has told you to do in a case like this. That would be take insulin (a fast acting) if you take insulin if not movement, take a walk stuff like that.
If you don't have a history of diabetes then see a doctor soon, today you do now.

You need insulin. If you are a diabetic, please contact your doctor or go to the hospital. They can help get your glucose level to a normal range faster than you could. Besides, you should be checked to see if there is something wrong that is causing the elevation.
