I have just recentely been told I am diabetic and have always had high cholesterol and am over weight. Diabetes runs through my immediate family so I figured it was only a matter of time. I am the absolute MOST picky eater you've ever seen! I need help! I don't know what foods I should be trying to eat to help all conditions. I don't really eat alot, I eat the wrong things. If you are interested in email conversations leave your address. I'm not sure how I contact people on here. Please no rude remarks, I'm looking for some help. Thank you!!

I'm planning a big camping trip and I've heard that dehydrated foods are the way to go. Where can I get dehydrated water to really cut down on transporting so much weight?

Would honey be ok if consumed by diabetic people? How about sugar from fruit? (fluctosa?) Or is it better to use sugar replacement? (I don't know the name for this)

Since I was just told I have Type 2 Diabetes, and need to watch my weight, would joining weight watchers be of any benefit? I am 4'11" and about 130 lbs-female, so could lose a few. But I don't know if the WW program is in line with the diabetic, food wise.

Hi, I just recently turned twelve and last night I watched this movie about this girl who was diabetic(who just happened to have the same name as me). I was wondering if you were young and you can't go to the doctor how would you know if you were diabetic?? I don't know if I have high blood sugar but I probably do. Sometimes I have a sharp pain in my right foot like in a vain. But anyway are there any test that get done when you're really small that would let you know??

I'm just wondering if I could have beginning signs of Diabetes. I am 21 and a bit over weight, but I have always had great blood pressure 110/62. I had a blood test done a few years ago, but the only result I remember was they said my Sodium was low. The reason I am asking is when I get thirsty, if I do not get a drink quickly, I begin to feel agitated and snappish. I just didn't know if this had anything to do with Diabetes. I only think that because I once said something to my Doctor about my throat being dry for a few days, and Diabetes was the first thing he said.
