I'm just wondering if I could have beginning signs of Diabetes. I am 21 and a bit over weight, but I have always had great blood pressure 110/62. I had a blood test done a few years ago, but the only result I remember was they said my Sodium was low. The reason I am asking is when I get thirsty, if I do not get a drink quickly, I begin to feel agitated and snappish. I just didn't know if this had anything to do with Diabetes. I only think that because I once said something to my Doctor about my throat being dry for a few days, and Diabetes was the first thing he said.

Hello. I am a type one diabetic..

..anyhow..thirst is one of the first symptoms of diabetes;however, many other symptoms will arise quickly. I wouldn't be too concerned UNLESS you begin drinking and urinating Excessivly...for instance.... a week before I was diagnosed..I began waking up 4 and 5 different times thoughout the night to urinate. I started developing INTENSE leg cramps from dehydration and very dry skin. Be sure to keep an eye on your energy level. If you become sluggish or weak...you may want to proceed to your doctor to have blood work done. Also, a good rule of thumb would be to lose 10 or 15 lbs (if you claim you are slightly overweight)....weight adds to the increased odds of type 2 diabetes....so be sure to get a good amount of regular exercise.

...for me..I noticed changes...drasically.....I lost 12 lbs in 3 days and..was almost in a coma when I was diagnosed. I was drinking obcene amounts of water and urinating ..to the point..that it was annoying to go to the bathroom.

...anyhow..good luck. Hope you feel better.

If you have a relative with diabetes, they can test your blood. It only costs like 50 cents if they have a tester. If your throat is dry in the winter, maybe you need to get a humidifier? I think diabetes is unlikely in a 21 year old unless you are very obese, but I'm not a health professional.

From the information you have provided, I would say, probably not. If you want to be sure just get a simple blood test. If you think you may be prone to type 2 diabetes, it's really quite preventable with diet, exercise, weight management, and a few inexpensive supplements. More on my diabetes info webpage:

Inquire if an area hospital or clinic offers diabetes screenings. A local drug store may sell a glucose screening test.

Hi LiveInLove

Are you drinking a gallon of water a day? We are made of 80% water and not being hydrated will cause a disease eventually. I cannot stress enough how much you need to drink water to rid of toxins and hydrate your body. Listen to your body because its giving you the signals what it wants and you need to take control of your health.

If you really want to improve your health, learn about cleansing your body by doing a colon and liver cleanse. Detoxing the body will change your life. Educate yourself and you'll have the greatest freedom of them all. Health

Best of health to you
