Sounds more like he's been drinking. This is what happened to me when I was in the denial stage. Either way, he needs to wake up. My mother died a slow, miserable death from diabetic complications and I'll be damned if I'm going that way. I've put together a helpful website that tells a little about how I came to this way of thinking and a fairly complete list of things to do to keep the sugar down with a blood test chart proving that it works. Ask him if he wants to go blind or have a foot amputated and see what he thinks about that.... because it's just a matter of time if he doesn't wake up soon. Here's my webpage:

Your husband needs to see a doctor. Bowel problems do not stem from sugar levels. However your husband needs to grow up and accept that he now has a chronic illness and get over himself. If you want him here five years from now you will make him take the meds and get him checked. Sounds to me like he could be having colon trouble.

I don't think his bowel incontinence is secondary to diabetes. That is something that needs to be assessed by a doctor. Your husband needs to be educated about the dangers of uncontrolled blood sugar. He could develop renal failure, damage his heart, go blind, lose a limb or two.....the list could go on and on. He is placing himself at great risk by failing to control his blood sugars.

If he is substituting sugar free foods to try and control his high sugars, he is going to have very bad gastro-intestinal problems, and probably the shits. Sugar free foods have sugar alcohols in them to sweeten them and it is disaster to the digestive system. Bad gas, diareah, cramps. It is a bad scene.

It sounds to me as if he could have diabetes-or very high cholesterol.
i wouldn't take any chances i would take him to the hospital to get him checked out. Also you must make him take his tabs, and if he wont you must tell his G.P as it could be very dangerous
hope everything turns out OK for you GOOD LUCK.
