I get rashes and hives when a laydown on my sofa. I'm the only one in the house that gets rashes or hives. My kids say they get ichy but no rashes. I go to an allergist. She justs looks at me strangely when I tell her about this. Could it have something on it that I am allergic too? Fabric protector? Formaldehyde? Help. The couches are nice. I hate to get ride of them.

Ive been havin these problems for about 3 years, the stuffy nose. I think i had post nasal drip for 7, i always felt like i had sometin in the back of my throat but never knew what it was. Well when i went to my regular doc he put me on antibiotics cuz i had yellow and brown mucos. That went away but i still have alot of clear mucos. The ENT did an endoscopy and said everything was fine. It never goses away the feelin of sometin in my throat even if it clears up a bit and my nose isnt stuffy it still feels like sometin is in there. I know its not a sinus infection cuz i dont have any pressure on my face, my mucos is clear, i dont get sore throats and its been goin on for years. Its also givin me bad breath even when i dont talk, u could smell it 5 ft away. When i blow my nose hard i can smell it like its comin from my throat or sometin. Is it the post nasal drip? I never had tonsil stones either so i dont think thats the problem. My teeth are fine too. Need help please!!!!

I want to get my girlfriend a box of chocolates for valentine's day, but there's a problem... she's allergic to nuts. Does anyone know of any brands of chocolates that are nut-free? It would also be nice if they were somewhat affordable... I'm on a budget! Thanks!

Whenever I eat eggs, I have sulfur smelling burps for a few days and I feel nauseous. (I know it's gross, but unfortunately true) Is this an allergy to eggs, or sulfur, or not an allergy problem at all? Plus, sometimes I have the same symptoms if I eat eggs that are baked into food, such as cookies or cake. Sometimes I feel miserable for few days after I eat eggs, or something that had eggs in them. I never had this problem as a child, but I do as an adult. Plus, because of this I try to stay away from eggs or anything that has eggs in them as much as possible. (it's really hard to do though)

Does anyone else have an allergy to tomatoes? I am allergice to any form of them and tomato concentrates are the worst. They give me a runny nose, lots of phlegm and a bad cough. My dad has the same allergic reactions to Potatoes (and both foods are from the same family). Does anyone else have an allergy like this and/or know a cure? Thank you.

Quick question, when you get tested for allergies do they check specifically for something you tell them or do the results tell you everything or most things you are allergic to??

Ive never had any type of allergies or reactions to anything, except for a few pimples when I would eat a lot of nuts or avocado, but lately Ive been getting minor hives as well as pimples. Does this mean that I have developed an alllergy to nuts?

My sons keeps getting a rash that starts out like flea bites on his legs then spreads to rest of body. The bumps do NOT itch. He has gotten it three times now. The first time it only lasted three days, then 8 days, and now going on 8 days again. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. But he looks awful. Benadryl seemed to work the second time he had the bumps. I gave him only one dose and the bumps were gone overnight. No luck this time. I have tried Bendryl and applied hydrocortisone. It seems to be getting worse. I brought him to his peditrician. She believes it may be a food allergy. I am now keeping a diary of his diet. I am not sure if I believe it is a food allergy because I have been researching the common symptoms of a food allergy and it says an itchy rash. His rash does not itch at all. Please help!!!

I've just started avoiding personal care products containing "sodium sulphate" because it's a toxin. It got me wondering though, since I'm allergic to sulfa/sulpha drugs, should I avoid regardless?

Thanks,
Linda

I found out today that I am allergic to cats AND dogs. First of all, it didn't surprise me about the cats because I have trouble breathing in homes where cats are kept as pets.

However, I don't feel anything when I'm around dogs. Still, the DR says to avoid them. Sometime in the future, I'd love to have a dog (not now, though) since I've never had one before in my life.

Are allergy shots worth it? The DR says I might be a good candidate for them. I really don't care for cats that much but I'm a total dog person so would allergy shots be worth it in the long run?

I am allergic to perfume and I work with a woman that wears it very heavily. I have mentioned it to my supervisor and he asked me if i could take medicine for it which i said no because I have heart disease. I have made it clear on several occasion that i am allergic to perfume and have even been made fun of by my supervisor with little snide remarks. yesterday i had to go into the office of the woman that wears the perfume and she told me that if i didn't like it i could stay out of her office but i have to go in there for stamps and to give her paperwork. she is not in a higher position than me but she is friends with the supervisor so she is allowed to get away with everything. i know the ADA says she isn't guaranteed the right to wear perfume and i am guaranteed the right to breathe and not be in pain but i have tried everything including ignoring it and not saying anything to anyone and it is only getting worse for me around here. what can i do?

Our two-bedroom apartment has a forced-hot-air furnace for heating, and the dust is just overwhelming. My husband is suffering from the dust, as he is allergic. He sneezes, coughs, wheezes, and has itchy, watery eyes from it. He's miserable. The thing is, I don't even know where to start. My friend says that it's probably dust mites that are causing his misery, but how do I get rid of them? Where do I even start?? I plan on giving everything in the house a good dusting (like with Endust spray), and stripping down the bed and changing the sheets...I'm also going to turn on the humidifier. But what else can I do? Any help would be great! Thx.

Any other helpful tips on getting rid of a cold would be helpful too, the decongestion medicine that I have been taking just doesn't work for me and I have tried a few decongestion medicines. And is there any way besides washing your hands to help prevent others from getting sick?
