Ive never had any type of allergies or reactions to anything, except for a few pimples when I would eat a lot of nuts or avocado, but lately Ive been getting minor hives as well as pimples. Does this mean that I have developed an alllergy to nuts?

Oh also, is there actually such a thing as a mild nut reaction?? Or am I just being paranoid about everything?

i have read in reader's digest that nuts really contribute to pimple formation because they are very oily but about the hives it could an allergic reaction. there is a test called the scratch test wherein the doc specifically an allergologist doctor will scratch several things on the skin and it will determine food, medication and all allergies. it really helps for allergic persons. then he will give a maintainance medication that to take in case any allergic reaction will arise. :-) allergies could be dangerous but they are very manageable once you know what you are allergic too. :-) God bless you. your baby should get this test. it's usually available on with an allergologist doctor and in some hospitals too.

Yes there are varying degrees of allergies.
In the case of nuts however I would recommend you get tested.

If there is a reaction it's better to be safe than sorry.
The doctor could prescribe an EpiPen in some cases.

I've seen an allergy cause swelling of the throat and the person ha difficulty breathing. I don't want to worry you but you should get tested just to make sure.

Rash qualifies as an allergy. However, to avoid nuts, you have to stay away from the whole category and read the labels of all your foods- if it says manufactured where peanuts are processed, you ought to avoid that food. Hives=allergies: pimples does not (they are caused by bacteria in the tiny hair follicles in your skin).
It would be a good idea to talk with your doctor.

I really dont think you are having an allergic reaction to the nuts. Other than the ones on here. But, if you are concerned i suggest going to your family dr. It could be that you were highly stressed at the time, or it could be that both nuts and avacados are high in natural fats. and fats have been known to give people pimples before.

no you are not nuts lol. you could very well have develop a stronger reaction the the nuts. for years i was allergic to bees. then one year i was stung and the reaction was normal. our bodies go through some many chemical changes as we age that it is impossible to say what kind of allergies we could develop as we get older.

if your breaking out in hives stop eating them!!! it sounds like you have developed an allergy and your reaction will get worse with each exposure. the pimples are not an immune response and probably have more to do with the oil.

yea, avoid nuts/avocados if u can; i think it may not be an allergy, just pimple outbreak due to greasy stuff (nuts and avocados may be very nutritious, but a small amt of that has high amts of fat in them) i suggest to abstain from them or eat a little.

yes there are degree's of allergy.

If you are showing those signs best to stop eating them and see a doctor and get a tox scan done. allergies can build up, its like a threshold, you build up to a point and it can get worse. It would not be nice to be allergic to nuts but best to be safe than sorry.
