My boyfriend and I are moving into a pet friendly apartment together in a few months. He's a total cat person and his last cat died pretty tragically. I've never been a cat fan and am horribly allergic to them but would like my boyfriend to be able to have one.

Is there a shot or medication I can take to curb my cat allergies?

Lemons, oranges, limes, kiwis, tomatoes, and sometimes even apples can make my tongue sting and occasionally make it swell a bit. Why?

I had a bad sinus infection in December and since then up until I went to the doctor I hadn't been able to smell anything. My sinuses are not stopped up I can breathe just fine. I still had a small cough I could feel it in my chest. I went back to my doctor he gave me a strong antibiotic (Omnicef) to take for 3 weeks plus a decongestant. Now EVERYTHING smells the SAME. Its weird if its peanut butter or cat food it all smells the same. And everything tastes the same too. (I didn't try the cat food lol) It's hard to explain the smell and taste but it is awful. I thought it might be the medicines so I quit taking them after 2 weeks (I know you are not supposed to quit an antibiotic but I couldn't stand it anymore. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I have an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor next week. Does anyone have any home remedies or suggestions? I'm pretty desperate.

One caused dry skin, one caused post nasal drip just as bad as the scented kind, all of them require I stay on Zertec D. I just got ear infectionS due to allergies and last year my allergies got so bad that I thought I had strep. Any Ideas?

Evidentally he reacted to it but this is a rare side effect and the doc said he has never seen someone react to this - he has no other medications that could have reacted with it. Anyone else out there have any suggestions? If it's rare how come it happened right away?

I have many, many allergies...including pet hair and pollen. With that said, I have a dog that is shedding a lot right now. I live in Florida and the pollen is SUPER BAD this year. I try to vacuum and dust often, but it's not seeming to help. It would be ideal to open the windows to let the house air out, except that I'm allergic to the pollen outside too.

It's not an option to get rid of the dog, so what else can I do? Please help! I can't breath!!

What are causes of bloodshot eyes? My right eye is very very bloodshot- (but my left eye is fine)ive had plenty of sleep, so im not tired- The last few days my right eye was very dry- felt like i had sand in it- So I had to use visine..I woke up this moring my lid felt a little crusty- I had to use a lot of visine to lube my eye...This happened once before- i went to the hospital- the same eye was bloodshot (but even moreso) they examined my eye closely- they said the eye itself was fine- they throught it was probrolly an allergic reaction. But why would only my right eye be affected?
It could be anything- colonge- incense, tobacco pipe smoke, shampoo in my eyes, a dusty carpet,etc..-
I keep dropping visine in my eye....What could it be? What could cause 1 of my eyes to become dryer than the other? It doent itch, my sight is fine- just it feels dry, and is very bloodshot- my other eye is fine..What happens in an eye to make it so red and bloodshot? How can I make it better?

My coworker claims she is allergic to seed, we work in a seed warehouse. We blend the seed together so dust goes everywhere and the guys track it in and out all day long. There is only me and her in the office so I am the one who has to clean and run allover the warehouse to find people and items. She says she cant do all that because she will have to go to the hospital but wouldnt it affect her daily???? When we sweep big clumps of seed and dust off the shelves wouldnt she get sick. I feel it is unfair for her to sit there all day long and for her to boss me around because she will get sick. She also said she cant help me carry 20 boxes of paper upstairs because of her heart. Now dont get me wrong people I dont care to work but I feel it is unfair for her to make false claims just so she wont have to do much. I just dont see the difference of seed and dust from the outside and the inside so how is she sick when she goes out but is fine inside. She said the doc told her for sure that s

She is continually chewing on her back right above her tail. I changed her food to science diet for sensative skin.about 4 mon. ago and her coat looked a whole lot better and her chewing almost stopped. But now she is starting to chew alot more frequent. She has been on steriods before but I hate to put her back on them. I also heard that the science diet food is corn base and could be causing some allergy problems also. Can someone recommend a good food for her that might help her out? Thanks for any replies.

I have dry eyes and I'm wondering what to do. I'm 17, and in school I'm constantly rubbing my eyes and whatnot. It's ridiculous. I also seem to low on energy lately. I've heard of this fish oil stuff, and I was wondering if that's the way to go? I already use eye drops and they help for about 10 seconds. I don't have any allergies...I don't think.
So I guess my question, summed up, is: For dry eyes, try fish oil? Something else? And also, please don't just say see the doc.

I've noticed that I sneeze when I eat bitter foods like dark chocolate and grapefruit. I have no other reaction. I only sneeze a couple of times when I start to eat, and then no more.

I do have an allergy to peanuts, but they don't cause me to sneeze, but to have anaphylaxis (throat swelling, hives, etc.).

i've had horrible cases of iritis for about 6 years now in both eyes. i've had tons of bloodwork and testing (chest x-rays, coloonscopy, endoscopy), and the onyl thing ever found was a severe ulcer on my duodnem(sp?). are there any new findings, any new research? treatment makes day to day life hard because i am a hairstyling instructor, and with dilated eyes, it makes detail work hard. i've had a few steroid shots in the eyes, and lots of medrol packs...on top of pred forte and dilating drops..

I haven't smoked in about 6 years and the other day I picked up a cigarette for the first time, stupidly, to combat stress. It was a Marlboro Light. Before I smoked the entire thing I felt an intense high. 10 minutes later I felt very nauseous and I threw up as if I had a quick bout of food poisoning or something and then I felt better. I looked up nicotine allergies and nicotine poisoning but didn't find an answer.

I should also mention that I'm allergic to morphine and I feel the same way (except my airway also closes off) when I am given morphine or dilaudid for my kidney stones. Since I couldn't find the answer online, does anyone think these are related? I'm also relieved to know a cigarette will never be able to tempt me again but I'm still curious as to why I fell so ill.
