I think I may have polycystiv ovarian syndrome. I've struggled for years with bad acne, irregular periods and now my hairs falling out and I'm gaining weight. I'm scared that if I just come out and say ' I think Iv got polycystic ovaries' to my doctor they might just dismiss me as a self diagnosing hypochondriac.

A couple of years ago, the contractors removed popcorn ceiling from my house. Not sure if there was any asbestos. My question is what, if anything I should do now. Is it possible to have harmfull level of asbestos now two years later after all the vacuming, moping, and airing out? If so what should I do? From what I have read, small amounts of asbestos are found everywhere and are not considered harmfull. Also, the folks who got cancer, worked in factories being covered head to toes in asbestos for several years. How concerned should I be?

I have no knowledge on HSV at all untill recently my wife genital has an outbreak. The result of my wife's diagnosis was she was infected by HSV-1. I took IgG & IgM test and IgG shows that I have HSV-1, index of 10, which indicate as positive (range shown >1.1 is positive). Negative for HSV-2. However, I do have sex with her day before her blister become visual. I took the test 2 days after that. What is the number "10" means? How the test come out with this number? Is "10" means I have a boost on antibodies which I recently transmitted from my wife? I had fever blister inside my mouth quite often due to my working environment which I think this is how I develope antibody. Me and my wife just married 2 months ago, we never had any sex partners before. We had approximately 15 or less intercourses and oral sexes after we married. Our relationship is now being test, I urgently need to know what is the meaning of the numbers which >1.1 to 10 or more means other than "positive". Thank you!

I am asking because my cousin has to have the Radioactive Iodine treatment but she's allergic to the iodine that's found in shellfish. So we're trying to make sure it's not related. Please help.

My uncle who has been in the hospital now since thursday for double pnemonia. First his liver shut down, and now apparently his kidneys are going as well. His bp has gone up though. Yesterday he was taken off his sedation medication but he still hasn't woken up. They are saying it's going to take a miracle but I refuse to believe this. Is there no chance at all for him? They are checking for brain I feel so guilty right now because I conributed to his alcohol use (he would ask me for money all the time). I cut him off though a week before he ended up in the hospital and I'm starting to think he did something to himself to end up here. We just now found out that he was suppose to go to court a few days ago for stealing beer but he never told us about this. We think he was too afraid too. He helped me out with so many things in life...he wasn't just some bum alcoholic. How can I feel better about this? I've never lost anyone before and we were so close..he was like the father I never had

I feel very tired a lot, and never seem to have any energy even though I get 8 hours sleep every night.
Today was particularly bad - for the first time in years I had something sweet with my lunch because I was really hungry. I ate a toffee apple muffin (crazy flavour, I think they were left over from halloween) and soon after felt so tired I could have just slept. (Though I don't know if this is linked to eating more than usual).
As I said, I've always been lothargic, but today was awful.

I was tested for diabetes a few years ago, so I don't have that, though my Dad wants me to go to the doctor's for a blood test, because my mother has anaemia and he thinks I might have because I get out of breath and dizzy just going up the stairs.

What do you think? I don't want a lot of hassle, and I hate things like blood tests ... but I do wish I had more energy.

Advice, anyone? :)

Question Details: This has been happening to me for quite some time (i've been to a sleep study and haven't gotten the results yet) it happens atleast once every night, but usually 3-4 times a night. I had an episode this morning when falling to sleep and it seemed to last longer than usual and I heard a buzzing/electric sound in my ears, I thought my brain was shutting down and I was dying... anyway, why is it happening so much?? I get plenty of sleep and it still happens!

So, early this morning I began having a really vivid dream about the end of the world. In my dream, I began feeling like I could do whatever I wanted and act as foolishly as I wanted because the end of the world meant I couldn't be held accountable for my actions. Then I woke up, went into the kitchen and felt EXTREMELY famished. I was speaking incoherently to my wife and kids and saying really bizarre things. I felt like I had no control over myself. I began to stuff myself with food and my wife began to panic a little about the way I was acting.

After a few minutes, I was able to regain a little composure and tested my blood sugar. After I had already eaten, my blood sugar was 72 mg/dL...

It was like I was having a bad dream because of a low blood sugar reaction....

Have other diabetics experienced this?

I have a high pitched tinnitus that I've been told is a result of nerve damage. (Where I got the nerve damage no one knows because I've had this since I was a kid and I've never been around loud noises that I know of.) Anyway, I'm wondering, since we lose our hearing, especially in the upper ranges, as we age, is it possible for me to go deaf enough not to have tinnitus anymore? Or since it's nerve damage am I going to have this high pitched ringing forever? (I'm actually used to it and usually ignore it. So I'm just curious, not stressed about it.)

I've noticed when traveling with her that it's hard to keep meals on a regular schedule and she always says, "I'm fine, let's go" and I know she needs to eat. I've even see her turn pale and go into the "falling sugar bizzare behavior" gig. Any prepared snacks or advice would be appreciated.

Ok I have a dental abcess, its severly infected, went to the dentist they gave me a antibotic shot and some antibotic pills, been taking them like I am suppose to but I am not feeling to well. I am a insulin dependent diabtiec and kinda worried that maybe the infection has spread. My jaw is still swollen and I am sick to my stomach, body aches kinda feels like the flu. Should I be worried or is this normal? My sugars have been running a little higher then normal 170-220 range since this happened. Just worried that maybe I should call the denist again. Any thoughts?

I am a healthy female in my mid twenties. I have never had any health problems or anything. However, in the last 8 months (since May), i have had Pneumonia 2 times and Broncitis 2 times. I now have a cold that is starting to get worse like all the other times durng the last 8 months.

Everytime i go to the doctor, they just give me antibitoics, etc. It takes me about 4 weeks to get all the way better again. They dont seem to be concerned that i am getting so many respitory problems lately. But i cant help but be concerned, because it is interfering with my life and work.

I am exposed to second hand smoke at work, but i have been exposed to it for the last 4 years, and i am just now getting sick this year, so i dont know if it is related or not.

I just started Ditropan 5 mg about 6 days ago and am still not noticing much relief from going to the bathroom. I don't have any problem during the night - just all day. Does anyone know how long it takes before you start getting relief and do you think it may take a larger dose such as 10 - 15 mg. Thanks.

I woke up this morning having slept for about 7 hours, and then went back to sleep for another hour and a half. When I got up I felt as though I was very drunk, my head was swimming.
Apart from that I have no other physical symptoms, no headache, no earache.

Two days ago (monday) I had ringing in my ears which lasted about 6 hours. I had been out on Saturday at a club but if it was due to loud music surely I'd have had ringing on Sunday.

For the past month I've had an eyebrow twitch which disappeared last week, and I've been having spasms in my neck on the right hand side (I put this down to being on the phone for too many hours in the day though). The docs thought the neck and twitch were nothing to worry about.

Have a docs appt at 4pm, but just wondering if anyone knows what would cause this dizziness... it feels as though i'm going to fall over all the time, my eyelids are puffy and I look pale.

I'm 22, was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year but not on meds for it.
