I have had panic attacks and GAD for the last two years and have recently noticed that if I have some cocktails in the evening the next day is like a rollercoaster of panic attacks. Feeling like my throat is closing and I am losing control of my body. Is there a direct link between alcohol consumption and panic and anxiety disorders? I should mention that on days I do not consume alcohol I am 80-90% okay. Has anyone out there found this to be the case?

My doc has advised me to take an iron supplement of 18mg. I could only find 27mg at the pharmacy. Is it ok to take the iron with my 5mg Glipizde 30-40 mins. prior to my lunch? Or, should I wait to take it right before eating lunch? Also, I understand that there could be intestinal side affects. What would help with this? Thanks

My 12 yr old sister has papillary carcinoma (thyroid cancer), she had a complete thyroidectomy followed by radioactive Iodine 131 treatment. Then she had a PET scan which showed 3 metastases (spots) in her lungs where the cancer has spread. This is supposed to be considered the most curable cancer.....but is it still curable at this point? the spots measure less than 0.5cm...if this helps.....please anything you can tell me would be helpful....

Are there other, more natural, options that can obtain the same effect?

<<< ignore the grammer errors as I am a hypothyroid male>>>

Hi I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism about a year ago and all I do is take syntheroid medications (Hormonal)..
(I am a 22 years old male by the way)

I use to be a very active smart atheletic young guy, but since about three-four years ago things have taken a bad turn. Hypothyroidism has put a U-turn in my life, I am no longer smart but am dum compared to the average people around me, my memory (wait i have no more memory, lol)has decreased significantly and I am sluggish in speech , and life is getting worse it seems as depression seems to be setting in from timt to time.

I wanted to know if there was something else that I could do
Like eat some certain foods that are good for the thyroid gland
or exercise the thyroid through yoga maybe?
Meditate, be one with God,..pray?

MY LEFT EYE TWITCHES AFTER I TAKE THE MEDICATION, IS THAT NORMAL? (4 the whole day)

ANYTHING, any hope?

Hi. I went to the doctors today to get tested for BV, I was sure I had it. And I do. So she prescribed me oral and vaginal antibiotics. I have not been with more than one person in the past 3 years, and neither has my partner. But my doctor told me that I have a high white blood cell count, which signals another kind of infection other than BV. She told me it could be chlamydia, gonoreah or Trich. Or it may be nothing. Now, I've been tested for these in the past 3 years, more than once, and never came back positive. And since my BF and I have not had other partners, what else could this be?

She also prescribed me medication for a yeast infection. Although she said she tested for it, but it came back negative, it could just be that I do have it and the test doesn't recognize it. I have also been on antibiotics on and off for a few months now, so that is why she wants me to take the yeast meds.

But what else could this be? She said my cervix looks good. But I do have HPV.

I've been noticing more and more that the hearing in my left ear is not good. I had an eardrum burst when I was a small child, and I am starting to wonder if it was the left one (I don't remember the incident--I was under 5.) I can't hear people who are sitting on my left unless they are talking very loudly--I am having to pretend to hear them by nodding along, or turning my head so my right ear is facing them. Can a GP do a hearing test, or do I need to see a specialist?

A friend has asked me to source a really good cream to stop her heels from cracking from the dry skin she suffers from. I have researched a lot of creams but a lot of them seem to have 'Urea' in them (And we all know what that is!).

Is there a cream out there that people have tried and tested and can recommend - I don't want to insult her by getting a cream with pee in it....

Only sensible answers please - appreciate it!

My head feels extremely heavy, and I get quite dizzy plus my vision seems to darken and I can feel my heartbeat is heavy. It only happens when I get up suddenly from sitting or lying down, and lasts for a number of seconds. I've had this before and if memory serves me correct, when I had my blood tested, I was told my blood pressure was a little higher than it should be.
However, I also have throbbing pains where my arteries are, and I didn't have this before. These pains are in my upper arms and thighs, and very occasionally in my lower torso region. It may sound stupid or weird me saying this, but these pains feel like they're coming from my arteries, yet I don't know whether you have nerves in your arteries that could allow you to feel anything. These throbbing pains happen randomly and my legs or arms aren't crossed, or in any positions that would allow blood flow to anywhere else but down, normally.

I'm starting to get a little worried because I've had this for several months now

On March 30 2007 was having a normal day then BOOM all of a sudden had shortness of breathe arms numb chest pain I felt like I was going to die husband took my to the local EMS station and I pass out along the way at the hospital I was told I had an anxiety/panic attack. a week later I still felt bad went back to the ER and was told it could be my heart cause of all the chest pain etc etc..went to a cardiologist was put on a heart monitor for a month everything normal, ekg's all normal echo ekg all normal. I had a nuclear stress test firt part laying under the camera resting everything was normal had to stop in the middle of it due to a reaction to the dye they used. went back 2 weeks later to do an echo stress test ran on the treadmill 6-8 minutes jumped off and they did an echo of my heart which I heard was better then the nuclear stress cause the echo picks up more everything came back normal..what can this be.

so it really only seems to happen during the winter or cooler months.

but every morning i wake up with this dryish-sore throat, and my nose is stuffy, and it feels like i have something in my lungs which gives me a slight cough.

i dont know if it doesnt happen in the summer/warmer months because i have my windows open or if it is because the air is generally drier in the winter/cooler months or what.

is there anything else that causes this? and any other fix?

My husband was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and I am looking for a home blood pressure monitor that is not only accurate, but easy to use. Hopefully one that isn't too expensive either, although I understand you get what you pay for. Does anyone have any experience with these or recommendations?
