I just had a surgery on friday and they prescribed me with doxycycline...it is giving me really bad growling and the worst heartburn! I have been waking up at 3 am for the past two nights and not sleeping any longer and then i have to take another one at 9 am... by this time i am exhausted. I am having breathing problems, very rapid heartbeat and like i said really bad heartburn.I can't take anti-acids for a few hours after. I plan to go to the doctor tomorrow and see if theres a different antibiotic they can prescribe me. I didn't take any today and I just need reassurance that I am doing the right thing and that I choose the better solution, NOT to take the doxycycline for today. I'll be okay for the next 24 hours without antibiotics, right?

I appreciate any advice you can give m

I made a mistake in covering the splinters with a first aide skin covering that resembles clear finger nail polish. When my nails grow the least bit, it is very painful. My husband is unsympathetic and demands I leave my nails alone. I have been to a dermatoligist, podiatrist and family doctor. No one has any answers.

My mother is on procainamide which is the generic name for pronestyl. This is a heart medication to regulate an irregular heartbeat.

Does anyone know a manufacturer of this? I need to try and get her on the manufacturer's patient assistance program to see if we can get this for free or at a discounted price. It is very expensive. She's 81 and only has social security. I can't seem to find who makes it. I've been all over the net and no luck. All I can find is info on the drug itself.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Long term antibiotics for kidney infections?
I had a 5mm kidney stone back in May, I had alot of problems with it, the stone went but I had a infection were the stone had been inside me for so long. I was put on different antibiotics I was home for about a 8 weeks, I was told to rotate the antibiotics cause I was having problems shifting the infection. I am still having pain in the kidney area, it feels like a slight burning sensation, I am scared cause I do not want the pain to get worse, cause I know how bad it can be, I am still taking the antibiotics, they seem to work for a few days but by the time I have finished them, I am in pain again. I have been to see a doctor and he said it can take a while to completely get rid of a kidney infection. Is he right is this normal? What I want to know is, can it take a few months for the infection to clear up, and could the antibiotics be harming my kidneys, because I have taken so many? Does anyone have any answers for me, thank you.

my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. She had a mastectomy and reconstruction, where they took tissue from her stomach for the reconstruction. They said her chances of a re-occurance were like .1%, something really small. well she did get it back. and she had to go through chemo and radiation. my question is:

what are the chances of ME getting it now? or any type of cancer? would they be more than normal?
