My 2yr old son has had a knot on the side of his neck for over a year and a half. The Dr. thought it first to be a swollen lymphnode, two months ago he had tubes put in but the knot is still there.

His Dr. is now advising we have it removed. The negative part of this is he'll have to be put to sleep via a tube down his throat, he'll have scarring, it's a dangerous spot b/c it's close to arteries. The surgery would take a little over an hour then a biopsy would be done. The mass has not changed in size in the last year and its mobile (you can move it around)

Is it worth the risk for him to have this procedure? I feel like it's a catch 22, what would you do if you were me?

My daughter was born today she is blood type A + my wife is O+ and I am AB - . I find it difficult to find information on AB - I find more information on AB+. I am African American but I would like to know what are the origins of my blood type - many of the literature in books and online are very inconclusive. I understand that my blood type is rare however is this blood type usually affiliated with African Americans or some other race?

I have a SERIOUS problem & I've been suffering it since the beginning of 2007. Every month, roughly 1 - 2 weeks before my period starts, I get a terrible breakout of blemishes on my face, mostly around the mouth area & I'm still recovering from a few on my neck. Although Clearasil fash wash & Clearasil spot cream does wonders, I just can't seem to get my blemishes to stay away once they've gone. Sometimes, they're small, other times they're big & sometimes painful. I've already visited my doctor & he assures me it's nothing serious, like acne or a skin disease. Just when I get really happy as my blemishes are finally disappearing after my period, it's not long before they start up again when my next one is due. Now, I am getting blemish scars & am forced to wear my make-up every single day. I have been late to work a few times because I have refused to go without first applying my make-up & I've not been swimming as much as I used to.

I am now DESPERATE for help. Please!

I'm pretty scared. I was wondering how much it hurts, because they are taking it out with a laser. the dermatologist said it might take another treatment for it to go away. but mine is small, and im young, so is that typical? also, after they take it off, is there a big scab ? or anything huge.

thank you!

I get really nauseous every time I attempt to read in a moving vehicle (car). Whether it's a book, magazine, newspaper or a small piece of writing, I get extremely nauseous that I start to gag. The nauseousness carries on till I down something, like food or a warm drink or else, it carries on the whole time. It gets even worse when I try to lay down or rest my eyes in the car when the feeling occurs. Although sometimes, albeit rare, I can read in the car and not feel nauseous and I still can't figure out what's the cause. I really love reading and it's sad because I can't read while in the car, which is a waste of time, really. So does anyone out there encounter the same problem with me? If yes, anyone knows what's the cause of it? Most importantly, is there a cure to this? Thank you.

My brother called me last night to let me know his daughter has lice. I have 4 children and they are with my brother's children daily at grandma's house. I checked my children, 3 are ok and I found some bugs and nits on my oldest daughter (she helps grandma a lot with the younger ones). I used RID on her last night and a comb-out gel, however I'm not comfortable waiting 7 days for the next treatment like the bottle says. Can I use the shampoo again on her tonight?
