My friend recently had sexual relations with a girl who's past partner was thought (not a hundred percent) to have AIDS it's just a rumor but that kinda gotta him kinda frightened. IF this person had the virus, how long does it take for the virus to show up on a test if he went in for a STD test? Any suggestion would be very helpful. Thanks

for the past year ive had a few small kidney stones made up of uric acid in my kidneys and they cause pain quite frequently and there is always microscopic blood in my urine. like i think there is a stone permanently stuck in one of those tubes (whatever they are called) or in a bad place in a kidney. im really worried this will cause cancer eventually or something. ive had so many tests but tests and treatments arent good for uric acid stones. any advice please? will this cause cancer? thanks

okay i am 17 and just had my baby a week ago...after i got out of the hosp. my mom told me she just got her first mammogram...and they seen spots on each breasts...my mom said there were 5 or 6 on each breasts on the x rays and that most were perfect circles and a few of them werent perfectly round...she is only 40...and she has been getting her breasts examined by the dr...just 2 weeks ago and hasnt had any lumps....i know that these spots could be benign cysts but they could be cancer also...someone please help me...i love my mom sooo much and i cant stop worrying about her...i keep thinking what if its cancer...and she has had it for a long time and what if its spread to a lot of her body...already...someone please help me and give me ur opinion i know nothing hardly about this and my mom doesnt either...we are both worried to death and cant get any sleep cause we are up crying all nite...she wont get the results for a week or 2...so please give us ur opinions in the mean time...TY

I am very confused by my readings with my home monitor. My daughter has the same exact problem (she's 7 and has very high blood sugar-having her checked for Type 1).

I've been testing for 3 weeks (I have Type 2)and my readings are fairly consistent. Fasting levels high. Very low early in morning. Low late at night. Now it's around meals that's confusing me and all the diabetic family members that I ask for advice...

About 30-60 minutes before meals, my blood sugar will be high/sometimes very high. About 30-90 minutes after meals, my blood sugar drops a lot! I'll go somewhere around 170 to 100 just from eating a small meal. Everything I've heard and read said non-diabetics and diabetics, their blood sugar increases after meals, logically. Why is mine dropping after meals. I don't take insulin or oral meds (for diabetes) and my meals are basically the same each day. I don't take any meds that interfere with blood sugar. Has anyone heard of this? I really need help! Thx

Ever since I've had my son 3 years ago my scalp has gotten dryer and dryer, and really itchy. When I scratch it a lot of flakes come off. It itches mostly around my hairline from my ears back, but sometimes my whole head will itch. I get my hair colored about every 3 months, and all of the anti-dandruff shampoos I've tried (from the store and salon) strip the color from my hair. I do live in a dry climate so winters are especially rough on my skin. Please help - any suggestions?

I have recently discovered that in some of the jails and prisons,
persons who have moderate to severe Hepatitis C, are put
in the ''general population'' of that type of facility, and to me, this is ''putting other people's lives...AT RISK'', and if it is
against the Law, then I do think that the System, should be
''held responsible'' for putting healthy people's lives, on the
line, for health dangers.
From what I understand, persons with Hep/C, and Genital
Organ Diseases do not have to Register with some of the
State Health Departments, but persons who are ''carriers''
of Aids, are required to Register.
I'm wondering why it is not a law, that these others "carriers''
of Incurable, Highly Contagious Diseases, aren't required to
Register, or are they??? In which States??
I don't know about other people, but this type of neglect, by
the law enforcement / jail-prison systems isn't right, and it
should be of great concern to us all, right??

A friend of mine has an ingrown toenail and it is a chronic condition. She can't really afford to get the nail removal surgery every six months and the crap that they put on her toe(I assume it's NaOH or Phenol) doesn't work on her, however unlikely that sounds. I know that prices are different for every doctor everywhere, but I'd like to know what some of you have paid for a matrixectomy(The matrix is where the nail grows from) or similar procedures. I just need to form a ballpark figure. She's desperate and I need as many people to help me as possible.
