Blood Types...?

Question

My daughter was born today she is blood type A + my wife is O+ and I am AB - . I find it difficult to find information on AB - I find more information on AB+. I am African American but I would like to know what are the origins of my blood type - many of the literature in books and online are very inconclusive. I understand that my blood type is rare however is this blood type usually affiliated with African Americans or some other race?

AB - is the rarest blood type there is. My gran had it and had to carry a special card with her to alert parmedics in case of an accident I guess. I don't know if it's usually affiliated with African Americans though.

though it is a bit speculative..

AB is rare, though I have it, and it is more common in some nations (India, Japan).

AB *positive* is the universal recipient (can take blook from anyone)
AB - (even rarer) should not take blood from any rhesus (rh) positive donor.

the only thing that I know is that you can give blood to any AB, and can take from and negative blood type. o+ is the most popular, whils AB is the least popular
