I had lymph nodes removed in my neck and was never told not to fly. I fly often and nothing has ever happened. You may want to check with her doctor to be sure with her particular condition.

lymphedema can happen even if you don't fly. I know a lot of people who have had breast cancer and lymph nodes removed and fly. My best friend travels abroad at least 3 times a year on business and hasn't had any problems with lymphedema and she is a 7 year survivor. I too have not had any problems and am a 3 year survivor.

I'd get a second opinion...
