It really doesn't matter if this happens in the Philippines or in the USA. Pregnancy induced hypertension is NOT selective of race or geographical location. This is usually a symptom of Pre-eclampsia. Basically, they don't really know what causes it but, they do know how to monitor it. Often, there is swelling of the feet,hands and, even around the eyes. Diet changes, monitoring blood tests that would indicate pre-eclampsia, blood pressure monitoring, weight checks( due to any swelling= retaining water). I hope that this helps.
