My friend has diabetes and i was using her tester and at a random time of the day and my sugar was 235... and a few days before when I woke up it was 217. I know both these numbers are high but lately when I test it is usually around 115-150. Do you think I have anything to worry about?

I was type (1)(gestational) when pregnant. My daughter is 2 yrs old now. It runs in my family. mom, brother, father have it. I was wondering if I ate at 6 pm , it's now 7:15 and i just took my blood test( 138). do i wait one hour or two after my meal to get the correct results? when i was pregnant it was one hour after meals.thanks

I am not quite sure on what happens during muscle atrophy. I saw this one person who was nothing but skin and bones and looked anorexic. So what happens to the muscles, and tissues and such. Does it just go away? Why are the people weaker? Does it have to do with cells? What about HIV wasting? Any answers would be appreciated.

I am 26 years old and I had my first sex with a girl before 2 months (I don’t know the girl earlier). She gave me blw job and then we had sex, we used condom for both blw job and sex. After finishing sex she went inside restroom and soaked a towel in mild hot water and gave it to me to wipe things from my penis. I removed condom and wiped my penis with the towel which she gave me. All of a sudden (after 2 months) suddenly I got scared and confused whether I got affected by HIV or not. There are 2 reasons for my confusion

1) I am not sure whether the girl I had sex have HIV or not.
2) I am getting some weird feeling that the wet towel she gave me had HIV virus. Since I cleaned my penis with the mild hot wet towel I am getting the feeling that HIV might have got into my body (assuming that the towel had HIV virus).

I am extremely scared and confused, please clarify my doubts.

When my allergies are bad I experience throat tightening/breathing problems. I have very mild asthma and all throat and chest tests were normal. It seems as if allergens are causing my throat to swell making breathing difficult. I do use inhalers for this with only varied benefit (sometimes it helps and somtimes not). Any suggestions or advice? I have always had bad allergies, recent sinusitis and recent thraot tightening (past 2 years or so). Thanks!

My friend doesn't believe that secondhand smoke(a.k.a. passive or involuntary smoking) causes lung cancer. She said there was no proof that someone has died from second hand smoke and a couple more of my friends say second hand smoke does not cause lung cancer. I was pretty sure it did but i went ahead and researched it anyhow even though all of my childhood I have been told it is bad. From the research I acquired it states second hand smoke does not only increase the chance of lung cancer but also causes many other diseases. A recent study in May 2006 also proved those claims to be true and underestimated.My friend's argument is that the ciggerette smoke doesn't cause lung cancer it just increases the factor, but if it increases the factor doesn't it have chemicals that cause the cells to mutate causing cancer. So if it causes the cells to mutate in a sense it causes lung cancer.If you could tell me of anyone you have known that has died from the effects of 2nd hand smoke. Thanks!

I initially started doing bodybuilding years ago and due to my soft and sensitive skin, the skin on my palms and fingers tend to peel off quite badly after each workout and decided to stopped bodybuilding and concentrate healing my hands and fingers first. But till today, the condition continue to worsen and the skin tend to crack with just the slightest scratch, contact with water and doing simple stuff like tying my shoelaces. My hands and fingers become like a thick mass of dead skin cells forming up like nothing on earth! Often at times, I am easily irritated at the sight of dead skin cells forming on my hands and fingers and tempted to peel or scratch off the dead skin cells off my hands and fingers till they turn reddish! I have avoided washing my hands, reduce the frequencies of baths and also tried using several moisturizing creams and still did not work for me! Could the manual peeling of the skin or nature of my work(construction worker) aggravated my conditon? Pls help me!

my tonsils have been swollen Pretty bad for about a week and I got an Ear Infection from it! at times its very Painful to Swallow but I cant go to the Dr I cant afford it does anyone know what I can do besides go to the Dr? I was diagnosed with IBS in 1991 and always had pain on the left side. Recently I have begun having pain on the right side. I also have pain in my right flank when I sit in a chair (for the last few months) and turn to that side. I can only sit that way for a few minutes before it begins hurting. The flank seems to "knot up" and hurts for a few minutes after I get up. I have no trouble when I sit turned to the left side.

I don't know if it's related, but I thought it was worth mentioning......Lately I have been feeling "anxious" - kind of like panic attack symptoms and then a few minutes later I will pass gas or feel the need to have a bowel movment.

If you only have some smart alec remark to make, please don't answer this question. I am looking for someone with similar experience or maybe even a doc on here to answer. Thanks.

I sweat all over my body excessive, including face, armpits, stomach. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older. I am in excellant health an have no physical problems causing this problem. I am no more than 20lbs overweight and even when I was extremely thin I still sweated excessive. I tried Drysol yes it worked but I had to apply it all over my body, which is hard and timely. I have read about cutting the nerve supplying the sweat glands, but would prefer a less invasive procedure. Is there any medications available?
