Well, I can't say that I have, but I feel empathy for you since you posted this question a whole day ago and nobody got back to you. I just didn't want you to think nobody cared. I don't know the particulars of asbestosis, but my father-in-law died from lung cancer, my mother died from emphysema and my daughter died from cystic fibrosis. It is so hard watching them gasp for breath when the rest of the world just takes it for granted that they will never go hungry for air. There will be times they look like they are done breathing (which means done living) and then they will startle you by taking another breath. You need to have a conversation - if you can - about wishes regarding a ventilator, and similar heroic measures, before it is too late to find out about that. It will be difficult, but if your loved one is in end stage pulmoanry disease, it is a reality that should be dealt with BEFORE there is a crisis that will not let you think straight. Trust me. This is a hard conversation to have, but after that, you will have more time to share with memories of better days.
