I've been taking glucophage (500mg) for close to a year, and I sweat like crazy when taking it. I'm "pre-diabetic" and have tried to stop taking it, but that makes me blow up like a balloon. I can't handle sweating like this all the time. I'm also taking Synthroid, which seems to just be making it that much worse! Help!!!

The lack of melanin in his skin is leaving light blotchy patches on his shoulders neck and back. He says it is not bothering him and this is all fine but I think he should get it checked out just to be sure. Is it anything to worry about? most of the information I have found is quite vague and he is refusing to go to the doctors. If you are a sufferer or know anything about it I would appreciate your info.

My wedding is in 10 days and I don't want to sound congested! :)

Thanks

I once knew a girl who had a very rare disease. As I was told, and from what I remember, it was called GAP Syndrome and it was kind of a combination of 5 or so other diseases. She was bald, and also didn't have teeth. She had large knots on the back of her neck and scalp. I was told that only about 20 people in the world had the disease, and that nearly all that ever had it only lived to be 8 or 9 years old. I was alos told that she was written about in medical journals and magazines because at the time she was about 15, so this was miraculous. She is now about 30, but I don't know her to ask what the disease is. Anyone know where I might find information?

I have this bad skin condition where i get flakes all around my nose and my eye brows. ( kind of like getting dandruff on your scalp, but instead getting it on your face.) I tell my mom that we should go to a dermatologist and have my face checked out, but she believes if I keep on cleaning my face really good it will go away. Is this true. Or do i need a special treatment for this problem.

On the news last night there was a discussion about a condition called Hughes Syndrome. The symptoms are very similar to ms, & they reckon that there may be some people wrongly diagnosed as having ms,when in fact they have Hughes, which can be treated with aspirin.Hughes is caused by a thickening of the blood, which affects the brain.I don't want to give false hope, but if you know anyone with ms,ask them to go for another test, you never know,it just might help them.If my understanding of this is wrong, please forgive me,I'm only trying to help.

Your opinion on the insulin pump. My 15 yr old daughter is wanting to go to the pump. I think there are good and bad points but wanting some other opinions from people who have a pump or who have kids with pumps to help us with information before we talk to her doctor. Thanks! I think it would be good, but would it bother you having this attatched to you all the time!
