I have this bad skin condition where i get flakes all around my nose and my eye brows. ( kind of like getting dandruff on your scalp, but instead getting it on your face.) I tell my mom that we should go to a dermatologist and have my face checked out, but she believes if I keep on cleaning my face really good it will go away. Is this true. Or do i need a special treatment for this problem.

You need to go to a dermatologist. You might have extra dry skin and need a special moisturizer. I have patches of dryness on my face too. I can be oily on my cheeks but my nose and between my eyebrows can be flaky.

It would be best to see a dermatologist for that kind of problem. Over washing your skin can dry it out, which could possibly damage new skin. I know first hand (at least for my skin type) try to avoid using St. Ives "Apricot Scrub" it makes your skin feel soft, but it really tears it up! Anyway... try using some moisturizer.

It's hard to diagnose someone else, so it's probably a good idea to go see a dermatologist. I know when I was 20 years old I started getting dry patches and it ended up being psoriasis. But please go see a doctor.
