I've heard of small things to help take the edge off, things around your house... orange peels, cinnamon... any suggestions? I don't want to just sleep the rest of the day away, but I guess there is always a nap.

My hands have been getting tingling and itchy feelings that come and go lately, is this something to be worried about or is it likely just dry skin? It is all over my hand but there is no redness, or signs of rash. I am young (24). Any ideas? thanks!

I have been looking for information on the folk medicine practice of "talking out a fire", when i came across the practice of a blood stopper. I have since been able to find little information on this topic and am looking for any information on either of these topics.

When I was a youngster I burned my arm badly when I spilled a pan of boiling water on my arm. My Grandpa took to a man that lived back this small hollow that was known as a fire or burn doctor. He took my my arm and recited some verse (could have been from the Bible, but I was very and don't remember all the details). After rubbbing his hands lightly over the burn the pain ceased and the blisters seemed to disappear before my eyes. I later asked my Grandpa if this guy was a witch or something and he just laughed and said some day he would explain it all to me. My Grandpa passed before I got my answers, as has the the old man at the head of the hollow. I have found that few people have heard of this type of "folk medicine" and would like to learn more.

I'm a 17 year old male and I take Lexapro for depression. I was wondering would you recommend me taking fish oil as I have heard that it should help people with depression. I have some fish oil at my house that I take for tendonitis because i'm a pitcher. It seems to help for the tendonitis and inflammation also I have also noticed that it has helped my facial complexion and my skins appearance. I am just wondering what you opinions are on fish oil and if I should take it. How much would you recommend taking? Also any other alternatives to help depression please let me know. Thanks....

Meaning, other than just the standard daily vitamins, like A-B-C-D, etc, what would you consider the most important supplements to take daily? (i.e. fish oil, acidophilus, etc, etc...)

Have had 2 bowel movements in 2 weeks. Both were hospital induced by enemas (a very large bag of fluid suspended high - like an I.V. - then a tube inserted several inches into the rectum/colon?, not just the regular type.)
Forced to go to hospital due to diabetes and after 2-3 days of no b.m., comes nausea then vomiting. There is much noise in the belly and according to both x-rays there was no "blockage". Gas is able to pass fine, and plenty does, both farting and burping. There is no urge to defecate even though the dr. has me on prescription laxative and stool softener and I'm following a healthy, fruit & vegetable rich, and high-fiber diet. I also drink prune juice, herbal tea, spring water (as much as I can without feeling more nauseaous).
I've tried castor oil, cascara segrada, magnesium citrate, epsom salts, prunes, metamucil, prodium, suppositories, coffee enemas at home, rhubarb, jumping jacks, sit-ups, swimming, hot baths, walking - everything but harikari, basically.Help
