I have been looking for information on the folk medicine practice of "talking out a fire", when i came across the practice of a blood stopper. I have since been able to find little information on this topic and am looking for any information on either of these topics.

A lot of older people who had the "gift" could actually blow on a burn and blow the pain out of it. Blood stopping is done with a certain verse in the Bible. I do not know the verse and it can only be passed to certain people in the family and if the chain is broken it does not work anymore. My father read it to me one time when I was about to lose my first child and it stopped the hemorrhaging. I doubt that anyone will tell you the verse due to the inability to use it again. There are a lot of books written on these subjects that you can find in book stores across the Blue Ridge Mountains. Also, I have a relative who writes a lot of books on this subject and his name is Duane Oliver. He lives in Hazelwood, North Carolina.
